I think one of the challenges coming in the future for new users and as well curators and people looking for new users to follow, help and grow, is the advent of AI content and how that’s received on the chain. It was a little tricky before to figure out who was legit and not trying to scam some money off us but now it’s going to be a lot harder to figure out if someone just threw some shit in one of the GPT’s and posted it up. It’s how the world is changing and we are dealing with it as we can but for me that’s a challenge. I look at new people with a lot more grains of salt.
Curation is definitely one of my favorite things and features! It’s been a great ride to get a solid curation on a post of mine and thinking of the boost it gives my own stake to get back out there and curate myself to others. Being able to spread out a lot of votes per day and week is a wonderful thing and as my stake grows I like seeing that ability get stronger.
I’ve thought about what it will take for me to withdraw to fiat. I’ve never done it yet which is good but thinking about the future and money, will I need to? I’m hoping to just swap to other digital assets and keep it going that way, so that I can keep it on the digital realm as much as possible!
I agree with your sentiment on curation. It’s kind of the one aspect I really wasn’t too interested in when I came here - I came originally to post flute videos on #threespeak so I could link/share them on Reddit - but curating others’ content has expanded the way I’m using social media entirely, as well as the benefits I’m getting from it. I learn new things and get to see inspirational works like the above boreholes in Ghana and Ed’s inspiring neighborhood cleanup work, even made some friends - hell, strange as it may sound, you were a part of my move to NC! I remember sitting down in the storage container to take a break from packing, and cheers-ing with you before knockin’ back a nice tall glass of vokky-juice 🤣 …anyway, I think it’s through content that we are able to put “ourselves” on the blockchain, but it’s through curation that we are able to meet others and make meaningful connections.
Nice to see you here my dude - have a good one!
It's important to know that AI isn't just affecting Hive, so we gotta see what others do about it and act accordingly. In my opinion I think people ought to realize what it is curators don't want to reward and what they don't mind, i.e. if AI is used to generate content thus being rewarded without any effort/to post more frequently or if it's just being used to help with grammar/wording.
I've been asked to write a post about it and will do at some point, but that's kind of the gist of it. People need to be honest and just mention when they use it and for what, then it's up to curators and others to decide if they trust them or not.
Yeah, it should be mentioned, just like if one uses an online translator, A Pixabay image, etc. Don't claim work done by someone or something else.
