They changed the menu the meat arepa was roast beef and not chicken and chorizo...
Mrs Tengo asks is it a cornbread mixture
Hi Super Ed!!! Finally, you were areping hungry ππ That arepa filling definitely has a Brit touch hehe. I've never had an arepa filled with roast beef, but that's the great thing of arepas, you can fill them with almost everything;)
For Mrs. Tengo :) The arepas here are made with a mixture of pre-cooked corn flour. In the old days, they were made with a mixture of fresh corn.
But this is what I use to make the arepas.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Harina-Pre-Cooked-White-Maize-Meal/dp/B01M00RD2N/ref=pd_vtp_sccl_1_1/258-0500254-9572963?pd_rd_w=0bQHl&content-id=amzn1.sym.2204c855-5dd7-4df3-b470-8459f4c43f4a&pf_rd_p=2204c855-5dd7-4df3-b470-8459f4c43f4a&pf_rd_r=6W6TXGVKG60PP57GFM76&pd_rd_wg=0C4YU&pd_rd_r=09fff7ce-96f8-44a3-9d85-ee226f5d9735&pd_rd_i=B01M00RD2N&psc=1
Maybe in Edinburgh, there is a Latin grocery shop and if there is one there for sure they sell Harina Pan. And you just mix it with water and add a touch of salt.
But what was the verdict, did you like it or not?
I LOVED IT
Mts Tengo thinks they have similar in America, she is from Colorado so they have a lot of Mexican cuisine that they cook. And I looked in Amazon it is out of stock, but I know what I am looking for.
The guy says they just changed the menu, but damn the roast beef was good and the arepa was tasty and melted in my mouth, was very impressed and I can see why you all like them, yeah you can put many things in them, very enjoyable and I loved the warmth of the arepa
