RE: Hive vs Publish0x | 12 Reasons Why Publish0x Works Better For Blogging

in LeoFinance5 years ago

Publish0x isn't so much about progressing as everyone who is accepted to post content and makes something that the people on there actually are interested in (it most likely has to be crypto related) is very likely to get the views and some upvotes. Since the number of news posts is limited and there is no real upvote4upvote mechanic or auto-voting, readers who also want to earn something for their attention will oftentimes just browse the new section (at least I notice myself doing this) and open articles that seem interesting to upvote them.

I personally see no issue with cross-posting the same post on different platforms. The way I look at it, I try to create content in the first place mostly with a function for myself others might also like with a chance to also find likeminded people in the process. Earnings are nice but are not the primary goal. I guess that's where some of my frustration around the crypto blogging platforms come from. If I would just go about it from the angle only wanting to earn, it would actually be a lot less time consuming and I would earn way more. I also guess that is why I'm liking Publish0x because what can be earned is not worth jumping all the hoops for those who just want to milk and earn.

Of course, it is not set in stone what Hive/Steem exactly is or wants to be and for everyone, it will likely be something different.

For as far as Leofinance goes, my general view on tribes since the start has been that they are a complete joke. Basically, people getting in early in the hope to get the upvotes to profit from people coming in later on. Nearly all content on there was with backward intentions and none of it was about the community or the subject the tribe was catering to. I have actually kept track of all the tribe values for a while and the numbers are quite clear

Once early buyers started selling and no new buyers were coming in they pretty much all completely went down the drain.

Leofinance is the only one I respect at this point because they actually have real development and a valid game plan and earnings to back up the value of their token. No supply of a gazillion tokens and multiple burn mechanics which have kept the supply from going up which is quite impressive. (Link

I guess crypto is one of the best-suited subjects because it's something most have a genuine interest in. The tribes, in general, are still quite confusing because upvoting is directly linked with hive upvotes for as far as I know and most still just use the tags as a way just to potentially get extra earnings. So yes, Leofinance gets a thumbs up :-)

I do look forward to SMT's and the ability to create more private communities. I'm not sure if a fully decentralized blogging/social media platform where people can earn with upvotes from inflation can ever work. If anything, the earnings aspect that can be manipulated and just sparks human greed and breaks the entire purpose.

Thank you for investing your time into this comprehensive reply, my friend. I have bookmarked it, for future reference! 👍

Agreed on content creation @costanza, as that is how we "met" in the 1st place. While I don't write a lot of posts, I make a genuine effort on the ones I do get published. It is far more than just earnings to me. My "name" is on it ...

With your enthusiastic endorsement of it, I will have to look into Publish0x, as time permits.

As for LeoFinance, while I spent almost no time trying to follow these various tribes, I agree from my perspective it is the one which actually seems to have a "game plan" and is executing it well. Just in the last day or so, they have announced they are going to run for one of our Witness positions and they will definitely have my support (which is growing with the STEEM I am converting over ...).

I would like your input on using the LeoFinance UI for posting, when you have a few minutes. I wish it wasn't necessary to use so many different UIs, but perhaps there is something I am missing and welcome your thoughts.

When posting using the Leofinance UI, the links to other posts will be converted to ones that go to the leofinance UI instead of hive or peak. I guess this gives a better search engine optimization and more visitors to their page meaning more potential ad revenue that will be used to burn LEO. As a reward, upvotes are given from the leo.vote accounts. At least that's how I understand it.

I also just found out how to set a multiplier for my Leo upvotes so no VP will be lost (it's done in the leo dex clicking the lightning button in rewards tab). All these things along with the multiple user interfaces really makes these platforms extremely complicated and hard on new users.

Anyway, good luck exploring Publish0x!
