Edition #38
August 3
One of the events that I was enjoying and watching of these Olympic Games was the road cycling, where there was a participation of a young Venezuelan, which managed to get the 53rd place.
Unfortunately, I couldn't follow this modality.
It was a Belgian who won the gold medal. Brazil was terrible in 71st place.
@taskmaster4450le Americans don't like riding bikes?
LOL not sure we are doing that at a high level.
From what I've seen, no... they're not. LOL
Hell yeah, Matteo Jorgenson finished very close, and rode an amazing race. America has talent on the bike, for sure!
Not just any Belgian, the aerobullet, Remco Evenepoel! He is phenomenal!
Nice to know that.
Today will take place a series of very important fights in the ufc, where the presence of Latinos is very good. In addition, many fighters will go all out to prove that they deserve to be in that octagon.
It's been a while since I watched a UFC fight.
I think I need to catch up. LOL
Blackburn Passes First Test in the Blue and Orange
The New York Mets opted to trade for Paul Blackburn in order to fill a need in their rotation. Blake Snell and Tarik Skubal may have been available at the right price, but the team was unwilling to move their top prospects. The early returns on that decision look good. Blackburn performed really well in his first start with the Mets, helping them earn a 5-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels Friday night.
Nolan Schanuel led the game off with a single into shallow left field. Two batters later, Logan O’Hoppe walked to put runners on first and second with one out. That didn’t phase Blackburn, as he was able to induce a ground ball when he needed it. Willie Calhoun hit into a 6-4-3 double play to end the scoring threat. That wouldn’t be the last time Blackburn worked in and out of trouble.

Are you a prominent player? I hope he's one of the best in the cast.
Not prominent. He was just traded for. Made his first start as a Met.
I organized the conversations here and am responding now.
Have you noticed that the leaderboard (I wrote it right lol) is working now?
how do I increase my points?
I couldn't find myself in the leaderboard.
It's something the Leo team is still fine-tuning. I realized that not even my name was in the daily qualification.
They are only counting accounts that have already made posts, some threads and that have invited someone with their referral link.
I believe that in the coming days things will be more adjusted.
Each thread or comment generates 1 point. But as I said, there will still be adjustments, as the numbers are not being updated as they should be.
I am not sure how quickly it updates.
But yes it is working.
From what I understand, it doesn't update every hour and I think that not all threads are computed. Because I've been here for hours and I've barely left the place... Or they're boycotting me. LOL
If I'm not mistaken, only comments and answers are being counted, as curiously I haven't made much progress.
Here is my thread from 4 hours ago and below the updated computation.
https://inleo.io/threads/view/coyotelation/re-leothreads-adbmbna
You even spent all this 4 hours on me, Task. LOL
I didn't understand why my numbers were frozen.
Oh I see, so his journey is still at the beginning.
For the Mets. He has been in the majors for a while though.
Yes yes, for the Mets. I hope he has a great career with the Mets.
He is under team control for another year after this.
A back end of the rotation guy, not a top line starting pitcher.
@coyotelation
Do you like this?
#leoshorts
Hey @taskmaster4450le.
Looking from this angle, it's incredible for us to see how close the throw is.
The player at the back has a great reaction time. Although he didn't catch the ball, he was attentive to the play.
Yes, I liked it and whoever threw it had a lot of skill in getting the ball back. But why didn't he run? He passed the ball very slowly to his teammate.
It is one of those that they had a laugh.
I got it.
The #mets are in the 3rd wild card spot again.
They need to go 7-3 on this road trip if they can.
I think it's strange, because I've never seen any of their games again. The last one was the loss against the Twins.
https://www.mlb.com/gameday/mets-vs-angels/2024/08/02/746193/final/wrap
We won!
That was last night's game.
I'm aware, but I only found out today that the Mets played yesterday.
Yeah. It is almost a daily event. They will play everyday for the next 9 days when have a travel day to return to New York.
Thanks.
Here is the game lineup for the game against the Angels.
https://metsmerizedonline.com/game-chat-mets-vs-angels-938-pm/
Thanks for sharing.
I still need to record and learn the players' positions hahaha..
Yes. I t helps to know what the positions are.
DH stands for Designated Hitter - he just bats he doesnt play the field.
This makes it much easier for me to learn, Task. Thanks!
I'll even save it here to help me understand better.
LOL there is a bookmark feature on Leo threads. You can book market the thread.
I've already reserved a bookmark to always learn about MLB.

Pretty cool Task. Did you make the video on your cell phone and send it to your computer?
It's hot there, right? here the heat will start soon.
I made it with the phone, compressed it and uploaded it through InLeo using Keychain.
Great, you didn't need a computer for that.
Cool.
No you can do them on your phone. Simply do a short and use whatever way you access InLeo.
If the file takes a long time, compress it.
Thank you Task.
My wife will take the first test. Maybe tomorrow I'll do something.
Good. Looking forward. I saw you had a test video up.
The Mets won the first game of their road trip.
It is a 10 day slog through 4 cities (have a make up game in St Louis).
Ah, I understand now, Task.
It will be 10 days and not 10 games as I had understood.
It is both.
1 game a day for the next 10...well now 9 days since they played one last night.
For those who watch, it's pure entertainment, but I still think these game sequences are very appealing to athletes. Even because they last a long time. Players are a machine.
I like a future of robots but not for sports. LOL
Technology and sports will go hand in hand and the future will be no different.
Robots games arent of much interest to me.
I knew... I already imagined that you didn't think of a robot. But I will post some videos from time to time.
Maybe someone likes to see robots fighting.
Do you like to gamble on sports?
I know a lot of people do this and live off it, but that's not for me.
Do you gamble on other things?
I know that there are people who have the skills to make a lot of money, but I don't get involved, because I know that these things are not for me.
I gamble every time I get on the highway.
You are a very lucky man.
But sometimes you need a certain skill to bet, right? It's not just luck.
LOL you ever drive around a bunch of old people...really old people.
Get the St Christopher cross out.
Nothing, I don't like betting.
There must be a lot of bets in the United States with MLB, NBA and NFL, right, Task?
NFL gets the most if I had to guess. But there is a lot of betting taking place.
Well, that's me. Many people must have fun besides watching the games, and also make good money, but that's not something for me. LOL

Simone Biles earns 7th gold after dominating vault final
PARIS -- Simone Biles earned her seventh Olympic gold medal by soaring to victory in the women's vault final at the Paris Games on Saturday.
The 27-year-old Biles averaged 15.300 for her signature Yurchenko double pike and Cheng vaults to claim a second gold in the event eight years after she triumphed in the Rio de Janeiro Games.
Rebeca Andrade of Brazil, who finished runner-up to Biles in the all-around final on Thursday, took silver, just ahead of American Jade Carey, who captured the bronze.

She is a phenomenon
She did rather well.
And in second is Rebeca Andrade, a Brazilian athlete. He has a good future ahead of him.
this is wonderful, I'm always impressed to see women in sport. Indeed globalization has really taken place
Yes it's true, it's cool to see more women performing great in sport.
He or she?
Sorry, the translator confused me. It's her.
I don't know why the translator put it as "him".
LOL that is what I thought.

Track and field fashion takes center stage at the Olympics once again
We're at the middle of the 2024 Paris Olympics, swimming is wrapping up, golds have been handed out in gymnastics, and track and field is just getting started. Some of the Games' biggest stars -- such as Simone Biles and Katie Ledecky -- have added to their résumés, while others -- such as Ilona Maher and Leon Marchand -- have made themselves into household names.
What have been the best moments so far? Which athletes have been breakout stars? And what should we be looking forward to over the final week of the Olympics?

Olympics 2024: Dina Asher-Smith fails to qualify for 100m final
SAINT-DENIS, France -- Dina Asher-Smith failed to make the 100-metre final for a second straight Olympic Games after suffering a shock exit in Saturday night's semifinal.
Daryll Neita, Team GB's other sprinting hope, did qualify through to the final in a different heat.
Neita recorded the fourth-fastest time (10.97 seconds) of all the semifinal heats. Only St. Lucia's Julien Alfred, Team USA's Sha'carri Richardson and Jamaica's Tia Clayton were faster.
Asher-Smith finished with a time of 11.01 seconds, which was only enough for fifth place.
"I'm just disappointed because I'm in great shape and have been in great shape all season, I fully expected to make that final, the race wasn't even fast," a confused-sounding Asher Smith told the BBC after the race.
