'Pokémon' producer was the target of cyber attack and data theft
According to the website IGN, Game Freak confirmed that the attack took place in August 2024. Hackers illegally accessed the company's server, obtaining the names and emails of 2,606 employees, both current and former.
Additionally, the leak revealed that the codename for Nintendo's next console is "Ounce" and that the next generation of 'Pokémon' games is internally called "Gaia." These new games are believed to be being developed for the successor to the Switch console.
