@crazycowboy - we basically have to straddle between being idealistic and pragmatic with every new phase of technology. At my age, I learned you can't fight these advances, so I learn at least the basics; so not to get left too far behind.
I agree. I'm old! I have been a part of the largest tech boom in history. I have heard the "it will ruin the world" line many times. And yet, we are still here, moving forward. Learn about it, not fear it.
#truth bomb 💣 @crazycowboy - couldn't have said it bettery myself
You have to have a basic understanding of something to base logical decisions on. Simply saying "I don't want that" only limits YOUR ability to understand the potential, good or bad, and be left behind.
It's funny, but yes I have tendencies that lean to being around the block a bit and get crotchety in some instances, but I always work hard to have an open mind. Might not be on point, but it has helped me remain at peace knowing I tried.
I always welcome new ideas and discussion/debate/research. It allows me to broaden my perspective, and - hopefully - make better informed decisions. I may not always agree, but I will look/listen!
