They are simply scalping what they can.

But people who are legit and threading, I agree we need to focus upon giving them some pageviews and comments.

Exactly. I do try. If I see something that has enough words that catches my attention, I will usually comment. My 'like' doesn't carry much weight yet, but I still do it.

Seek out value and let them know. It benefits everyone.

The value to the platform is the click and the comment. The latter could inspire the threader to reply and, perhaps, start a conversation. That is how it all starts.

People who understand personal branding will realize the power of what is here.

The question is how many actually do understand it?

From what I see? Not many!

I think your perception is very good on this one, not that it is well hidden. But we have so many who fail to grasp what is being offered here.

This is that 'golden opportunity' everyone seems to want. Get in early, build your brand. However, very few will ever take any action to do it. But damn, they sure will complain that it 'didn't work' later!

Threads isn't in it's infancy, it's still in the incubator! Being an early adopter, and TAKING ACTION on that position, can be powerful! As it grows, your established position grows with it.

But hey, what do I know! LOL

That is very true. I would counter with, on threads, a lot of what you see is people just dropping links to their long form posts. Not sure that is worth much engagement since those people tend not to respond anyway.

Engagement is two-way. You can't expect others to do what you won't. I might want to build a conversation, but if you don't respond, I go away. I talk to myself enough already! :P
