Mark Zuckerberg bends the knee and has become a Donald Trump-supporting, cage-fighting conservative whose 2025 slogan might as well be Make Facebook Great Again. At this point, he seems to be reshaping Meta in the MAGA image. Last week, Zuckerberg announced plans to loosen restrictions on speech on the likes of Facebook and Instagram, recommend more political content on the platforms and abandon independent fact-checking in a bid to, as he put it, “get back to our roots around free expression”.
At 40 it seem Zuckerberg is going through a mid-life rebrand and his platform continues to show its well past its prime. The question I have at this point is whether this is a genuine shift in Zuckerberg’s beliefs, or a way of currying favor with Trump. I want to think it's a pathetic attempt to save Facebook, but at this point it's looking like an actual conversion. He's giving real Joe Rogan vibes, Zuckerberg became a devotee mixed martial arts (MMA) and jiu-jitsu fighter. On Friday, he actually appeared on the Joe Rogan podcast where he gave some insights into why Meta has made major corporate policy changes like ending its diversity, equality and inclusion (DEI) programs, ordering the removal of tampons from men’s bathrooms (which had been supplied for transgender and non-binary employees), and replacing global affairs chief Nick Clegg with Republican lobbyist Joel Kaplan... The interview saw had plenty of criticisms of the Biden’s administration and his company’s fact-checking procedures.
Long gone are the days of Barack Obama and Mark Zuckerberg teaming up at Stanford University in 2016 and his support of democrats. I also think long gone are the days of Facebook and Instagram as the backlash from this transformation has spurred outrage online. With user's pointing out how AI, misinformation and boomer post are flooding the site. I cant wait to see if this is the end of Meta!

Meta is already done for at this point. They can only move rapidly towards the decentralization path or die trying because that’s where the world is moving to overtime. Moreover I don’t see him beating someone like Elon in the web2 game.

Me either it's really sad to see. I know my wife and I just talked about not using any Meta products goign forward.
I could do it if I could get my family to stop. I like keeping up with them though.
I see more of my older family member getting off it so we will see what the next generation of social media is.
Yeah, it will be interesting. I've noticed my nieces don't seem to post as much as they used to on things like TikTok, so either they are outgrowing it or they just don't care anymore.
The whole situation to me seems like he is pandering to who is in charge. Like suddenly he is about Trump when he kicked the sitting president off the platform.
Pretty crazy overall but I did hear his whole talk about AI displacing workers and he sort of acted like it would just be a shift in what people do but I'm not buying that. In general they will expect one dev to do the work of 5 devs and ultimately those salaries in general aren't keeping up with inflation. A guy like Mark won't admit that our money is worth 1/3rd as much as it was 20 years ago but salaries for IT, Engineering, Accounting haven't come close to keeping up with any of that.
He seem like a snake I had high hopes but he is just another sell out looking out for himself.

I think Meta is past its prime and users have moved on to other platforms like TikTok.
Mark Zuckerberg's announcement is a war against censorship, in fact, political leaders want to control social media which violates free speech laws.
He's just trying to not get targeted by Trump, but he's like all medias, papers do the same, as soon as there's a clear winner all turn around and stop flame the winner and congratulate... The world is very hypocrite
I think he's trying to save himself lol. Not really sure whether he's transformation over the past few years is genuine or not, but he definitely looks different now.

lol trust me there is no transformation happening. Just a front that will still go in the face of users in terms of hoarding their information, tracking their data and so forth. Nothing has changed at all.
Plus people have been saying Meta is day forever. But it's still one of the largest growing social platforms ever. They also own Instagram now. And facebook as well for all of the social media accounts I manage there are droves of people still on there.
Well I will say it is getting obvious that he is pitching his tent to an area where it will benefits him
