For some reason I thought my 7 year birthday was next week and not today.
Really crazy how quickly time flies as it does not seem like 7 years ago when I jumped onto HIVE. Little did I realise how life changing that decision would be and I mean that in a good way. I have got to know so many people in the community which makes it a pleasure to log on each day. HIVE becomes a way of life and it is good fun.
Some crazy numbers and who knows how may thousands of hours
Right in the very beginning up till about the 3rd year HIVE was the biggest personal challenge I have under taken. Commenting like a mad man for 8 hours a day is what got my account some traction as there is no other way to stand out when your account holds no value. I also wanted to catch the others who had been on HIVE 12 months before me. The time was spent reading posts like you should, but very few do and doing genuine comments. Comments are a great way to grow and get to know other users if they reply and how you grow your followers. Sounds like common sense, but a comment is your secret growth tool.
I won't bore you with the numbers, but having posted 4802 posts even shocks me from some one who used to hate writing. These days I find it therapeutic and how I unwind from work. When you enter HIVE you enter a new world that so few know about and have yet to find.
For those starting out on HIVE don't be discouraged by the earning numbers as it is extremely hard getting going. It took me ages to achieve 500 HP and when HIVE hard forked in March 2020 I had accumulated 16K Hive Power. The following 5 years there as been another 116K HP added so this does take time and all of this was from 0 and all earned.
Over time the earnings do rise because that is what stake does as stake influences your curation rewards and your APR earnings which today are magically back at 3.08%. Sounds like nothing, but the APR is now worth 12.5 HIVE daily on my stake and why growth starts to speed up. I have never powered down yet so this is a solid 7 years. I have bought some other tribe tokens which have not panned out as planned and will concentrate on HIVE only.
My vote value is how I gauge my growth on HIVE and last night it reached the highest value yet and is why stake is important as this not only supports the community and your own account growth it also allows you to vote on various proposals that are important for HIVE.
All I can say is thank you to everyone who makes HIVE such an enjoyable place to sped time and look forward to many more years spending time with all of you. Maybe one day I can get to a HIVE Fest.
