I was watching the Formula One race today and what became fairly obvious was the crypto.com sponsorship deal that was signed last week was in full operation. The crypto.com name was blasted all over the course and is now a major sponsor and partner. A decade ago the worry when all the tobacco advertising disappeared was who was going to step in and replace the void. Today we see the likes of Tezos and crypto.com being the first to climb aboard but surely others are not far behind as crypto is becoming more acceptable. I think that is the key here as even as short as 18 months or even 12 months ago it would have been frowned upon.
Another prime example is the token STMX who signed a 3 year deal with the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers last week. I have never heard of them, but it is a platform where you can earn STMX tokens by shopping at over 750 stores. These are crypto currencies that are getting a brand name and will most likely be iconic like any other house hold brands we already know and recognize just by a symbol or a shape.
Yet another one when last week FTX announced their sponsorship deal with MLB which will allow then to feature their logo on the MLB umpires uniform. These are the early birds getting in as I expect others are thinking the same thing right now. Getting your name out there into key sports that the masses watch is only going to benefit long term. Crypto currencies or alt coins are not going to hang around and expect a flurry of new deals being signed before the next seasons kick off.
Another announcement also last week was the Dutch football team AZ Alkmaar was going to pay it's players in Bitcoin. The club is being sponsored by Bitcoin Meester and has agreed to invest in Bitcoin and keep it on their books.
There are so many announcements happening all at the same time and things are changing rapidly. I think this is another case that highlights to us how early we all are and many of us have been involved in crypto for a few years already. It is looking like everyone is embracing crypto and it is about to take off in a big way which we already kind of knew it would. personally I thought it was still years off due to all the FUD and delay tactics but this is in your face stuff we are seeing happening and there is no holding back anymore.

Here in Spain you see every day some startup with Bitcoin on the front page but I think in Venezuela it looks much more promising because people are ACTUALLY using cryptocurrencies to get through all the government controls they have.
I think main stream adoption is getting closer each week that passes and what the Venezuelans have done has shown the way on how useful crypto really is.

You've got more and more sports personalities tweeting about crypto, being paid in crypto, promoting crypto. It's becoming the norm quicker than any of us thought it would. When the likes of Tom Brady tweets about Bitcoin, Rob Gronkowski sells NFTs and Patrick Mahomes tweets about the state of the crypto markets, they reach a huge audience. They are major influencers just in the world of NFL. Then you have boxing fight tickets being sold as NFTs recently too. And the F1 racing sponsorships and Football shirt sponsorships that you mention in your article. I just wonder how many of the crypto currencies or tokens will survive long term. Obviously I hope I've backed the right ones lol!
Very true about the sports stars being major influencers in the crypto space these days. Many will fail for sure along the way as there are too many right now with no real use cases.

These are huge sponsorships. I did not realize until recently how big of an audience F1 actually attracts. Thanks in part to watching Rush about Nicky Lauda and James Hunt, I've become interested in it. Now seeing they are crypto friendly, I am even more interested in watching upcoming races.

They have a massive audience and it will only get bigger with the new initiatives like the sprint races on a Saturday instead of qualifying. They are definitely looking for a younger audience these days and it should pay off.

It is similar to the start of the Internet when the early companies started to have their names in front of mainstream audiences via sports sponsorship and things of that nature.

Even Cricket has got a Crypto sponsor in CoinDCX as the upcoming Sri Lanka - India T20 Series cup is named after CoinDCX for them being the title sponsors.
Definitely the early days for Crypto and we all can hope for a better future with Cryptos.

These are interesting developments. I wish we have the needed development in sports token that may generate enough revenue to advance into this kind of sponsorship. That would just be the beginning of great days for the token.
The adoption is really getting big and quicker than we expected to the extent that Central banks also want a pie of this adoption with the push their CBDCs!

this is very true. crypto exchange is becoming overwhelming in our society and i love it. some POS points are even accepting crypto. thats the future of finance. up we move.
