Gathering Information During The Pump

in LeoFinance3 years ago

Last night whilst the Hive pump was happening I was looking around for any bits of information that could help us next time around. I did feel like a tourist as this does not happen often and needed to act quickly. This guy knows what's up called this 2 days earlier on twitter and was nearly spot on. Not your normal Hive shilling calling for $1 dollar and to the moon lol. I don't think he is from Hive as today he tweeted.

I am following him as he seems an interesting character and one of the first outsiders (possibly) who is at least spotting Hive. The 3 spikes he was talking about were not clear on his tweet so I pulled up the Binance chart and there they were just before the end of July and another one just at the beginning of September. This one was obviously the first week of October so any bets for the end of this month? What I did notice this morning was the volume was not heavy that caused the initial price surge past $1 and only then did the volume come in taking Hive to $1.57. We have visited over the night between $1.20 and $1.40 fairly frequently and there cannot be much resistance left at those levels. This won't take much to get the price to another ATH as everything has been primed and greased for the next run.

What was noticeable looking around was the Leodex or tribal wallets as they were feeling the impact of the surge and went up exactly at the same percentage as Hive. Leo was matching the 126% increase in value before people sold affecting the gains. Some were smart enough to pick up on this selling at 37c and possibly buying back on Leodex with a 50% swing from buying and selling.

The Hive wallet more than doubled in value obviously along with the Leodex wallet with everything backed by Hive I suppose that this should be obvious.

Crypto Bubbles featured hive for the first time of me noticing it which was neat to see as this is obviously a rare sighting for us.

Look I still had to go and look for the top 100-200 coins by market cap to see this but still it is great we featured. Now we need to hit the top 100 and knock the silly Meme coins out the way.

As you can see some thought went into this running around checking what the effect was and if we can somehow take advantage of what was happening. What is that saying knowledge is power or something to that effect anyway. Hive made it to number 8 out of 3079 crypto coins which is pretty decent considering bloody Shiba was at number 1. The time was not great being around 2.45 am in the morning for me and anyone in Europe.

Th info from the exchanges I didn't have to worry about as somebody else beat me to that part namely @taskmaster4450le with a decent summary showing where the pump volume came from being Korea.

Nice analysis and leg work!

I think there’s some great alpha here. The cool part about Hive IMO is how much transparency we get in terms of power ups, movement from exchanges, etc.

We basically have a supercharged version of on-chain analytics (the burgeoning data industry on Bitcoin)

I think there’s a lot more that can be done in terms of analyzing this data. Penguin Pablo and arcange make the data easily available. People like @dalz often do great analyses on various projects in the space.

Huge potential there. I may have to get someone on it doesn’t the new LeoAlpha reports one day 🦁

Thanks for the nice comment. Data is so important as it gives us the advantage if read correctly. Wouldn't it be great to know exactly what to do when this happens again and where the best gains are as this could trigger another pump in the tribes.

This!

Looking forward to seeing where some of our analytics guys can take this.

I just happened to be checking in on hive when the pump started and I watched it all in real time. As usual I did nothing and was completely ilprepared. I feel like a tourist as well on my favorite blockchain. I just went back to splinterlands to try and earn some $.01 DEC lol. I suck!

I missed the Hive pump at $1.5, I woke up and saw the pump chart from a friend Whatsapp status, I ran to check Hive on Binance and noticed the price was down to $1.25. I searched for the news behind the pump but couldn't find any tangible news while other alts are bleeding in the market. However, this shows Hive will do well in the next altseason which happen sooner.

Thanks for showing the Twitter account that shilled Hive and other tokens, IOTX also pumped a bit, I will check the user out.

Nice article ! I will add this dude to my list 😉

Thanks. I also added him as one never knows what info they could add.

You summed it up well, thanks for the tips on that guy. I was awake at the time of the pump, and woke up the entire house, called friends that own HIVE 😁

A question for you my friend:

Should I always keep some liquidity, to make profit in times like this, or should I just keep on staking on not caring too much about price fluctuation, what matters for us is getting a bigger pay per post?

I would keep staking until you have a comfortable amount first. At some point earning Hive will be harder and having enough by then is the key.

At some point earning Hive will be harder and having enough by then is the key.

Can you explain to me why? Is it because the value will increase?

Not only the value but the numbers active on the chain. The reward pool stays the same size no matter if there are 5 people or 10 million people and that is where the less Hive comes from.

Yes, I understand that.

But the value of hive will increase so people won't need big upvotes anymore right?

Yes but the amount of Hive you earn will decrease so the ability to grow your Hive stake drops. Maybe today you earn 15 Hive on a post and that figure will decrease so what you are able to stake will be nothing compared to what we are used to. The reality is Hive will not be easy to earn even though the rewards may stay the same or higher in dollar value.

Will people continue to post if it's harder to earn hive?

The second best kind of pump. Well it happened to be in a good time, as I had to sell some hive, as usually pumps happen after I've sold any hive :D

nice analysis and great work !!!

Tnx for the round up, that dude is in my Twitter feed now!

Great finding. While Hive was pumping
Does liquidity was an issue in the meantime?
Every time we pump all eyes on Hive
One day it will stick around past 48 hours.

Very good and we still keep about 50% or 40% of the value of the Pump

HIVE just moved from 0.7 to 1.5. that's a good move. We are still expecting HIve to be among the top 100 crypto currency in the market cap. I believe you on that. I know Hive have enough strength to move more than this, this year because as BTC is increasing, Hive is doing the same, the same time.
That's good information.
I concur to your information.

That is really interesting. It might be a good idea to follow that guy as well. Seems to be pretty in tune with what is happening in the markets. Great post!
