Very true as many think it will take millions to transform what we have here and 5000 is nothing and multiply that by 10 which is not difficult then what. The slow growth is ideal right now as those new users are not leaving so the foundations are being put in place.

That is true although one thing a much higher growth rate will allow is for greater turnover with less detrimental impact. That is what the major sites have going for them.
Also, the higher growth rate will equate to more activity. Again, look at the number of comments on many YouTube videos. Of course, when you compare to the number of views, it puts it in perspective. 300 comments on a song that got 5 million views is nothing to brag about but it does result in 300 comments.
