In less than 24 hours, Splinterlands will begin selling validator licenses in a presale. Splinterlands posted plans to distribute validator licenses back in April in an overview post describing the licenses, reasoning behind them, and the distribution plan. The presale will allow community members looking to further support the project to purchase a license before the validator node software is publicly available later this year. The license will be held in the form of an NFT, and can be traded between players as needed. There will be a final total of 60,000 validator licenses created, with 2,000 of them being distributed in the presale.
What to know for the presale
As described in the overview post, the presale will allow SPS holders to purchase a license before the validator node software is available. The price for the license in the presale will be a combination of $1,000 of SPS and 500 VOUCHER tokens and only 2,000 licenses will be available for purchase in the presale. The other 58,000 licenses will be distributed through later sales at much higher prices.
To purchase a license during the presale, navigate to the new "NODES" tab in the Splinterlands shop. A countdown timer will be shown until the presale goes live.
