Stop scrolling shorts, Write a post!

in LeoFinance5 months ago (edited)

I just had a game-changing realization about my scrolling habits on TikTok, Shorts!

You know that automatic reach for your phone when you're bored? That urge to open these shorts and start scrolling? Well, I've decided to flip the script on that impulse.

From now on, every time I feel that familiar itch to scroll, I'm going to use it as a cue to create instead. That's right – I'm transforming my scroll reflex into a Hive-posting superpower!

Here's the plan: Whenever I catch myself about to dive into the endless feed of shorts, I'll pop open Hive and write a quick thread post instead. It could be a thought, an observation, a question – anything that comes to mind.

Why this switch? Because I realized that my brain is craving stimulation when I reach for social media. So why not feed it something more satisfying? By creating content instead of just consuming it, I'm turning idle moments into opportunities for expression and connection.

The best part? It only takes a minute or two. We're not talking about writing novels here – just quick, fun bits of content that keep our INLEO community buzzing.

So who's with me on this scroll-to-create challenge? Let's retrain our brains together and see how much awesome content we can generate! Who knows, we might even surprise ourselves with our creativity.

Ready to turn those scrolling urges into Hive gold? Let's do this! 💪🐝✍️

You're right, it's such a waste of time to scroll through these social media posts or what you call "shorts".... !LOL

I used to be addicted to the hokey-pokey
but then I turned myself around.

A great idea!

I realized how dangerously addictive watching AI-suggested videos are, and even more so with shorts and tiktok, so that in principle I never watch tiktok videos and I disabled YT shorts on my desktop, using the awesome extension "unhook". This saved me so much time!

But why writing dozens of threads instead? Why not go for level 1 posts? I think they create more value (not necessarily money-wise).

Yes, you just reminded me that much of the shorts would be AI generated, which is a bloody time sucker.

Why not full blown post?

Ain’t got time mate

Some videos are AI-generated, yes.
But more importantly, the feed algorithms are AI-driven. The algorithm knows exactly (better than yourself) what you want to see and shows it to you or suggests it so that you are maximally hooked. And with each click on the video (and how long you stay on it) it learns more about you. This is the scary part.

I stopped going to Tiktok or Twitter a while back, but I do think threads is a better option. At least you are rewarded for doing stuff there.

Very important and necessary your post, little by little I have suppressed all my social networks and I found in Hive the place to share my ideas at my own pace. I feel pretty good here despite the short time and I know I still have a lot to learn. Thank you for your words.

Yes, we need to suppress those mindless activities!

It is true that we all have this habit and we have to stop it. It is better that we work hard on this platform. I have been working continuously for two and a half years.
