Cooking can be a trigger two fold. The extra heat and being upright. Maybe look into a stool or chair you can sit in while doing most of the work (if you can tolerate sitting) Shower chairs do wonders too(in general not in the kitchen lol).

I fainted several times as a kid, but the one that led to a diagnosis was at 15yo, and I was cooking. It was bad, but kinda funny, idk why I took the time to get the food out of the pan and turn of the kitchen instead of getting down immediately 😅 I hit my head so bad the doctor sent me to neuro. But luckily that doctor sent me then to a cardiologist that actually knew how to diagnose it.
It was really hard to manage before it. I was getting worried because the other doctors just asked for blood work and that always came out perfect, so it had to be something more complicated.
The dysautonomia is complicated, I think I'm lucky for not having a severe version, but I've noticed it's easier to trigger as I get older
