Unveiling Hive: Exploring the Expanding Ecosystem and Its Future Potential

in LeoFinance6 months ago

I've been thinking about how my venture on the platform will shape up in the near and long term. This thought was sparked by my newfound understanding of our platform.

Initially, I viewed the platform as just a social media site built on top of the Hive blockchain. But that's only one facet of Hive. Although it started as a blogging platform, it has evolved into an ecosystem for various apps, use cases, and beyond. It's expanding and growing.

Some users utilize the platform for blogging and posting content, while others focus on curating. Some individuals have built games and apps that other users enjoy. Some have successfully linked their real-world projects to the platform, and others are integrating or planning to integrate their businesses in ways that benefit their brand or product. Additionally, some are creating artwork to sell on Hive's NFT platform.

This diversity showcases the many ways to contribute, connect, and build on the Hive blockchain. The platform has come a long way since its inception as a blogging platform. Projects are being built that are transforming the platform into an ecosystem encompassing every aspect of the online world.

Among the developments, I want to highlight those that I believe are making or will make a significant impact on the Hive ecosystem:

NFT Showroom

The Hive Blockchain is perfect for artists to showcase their creativity and sell their artwork. Hive, as a social media platform, allows artists to connect with their collectors without relying on mainstream social media. The platform is community-driven and offers features that enable artists to engage with their collectors in a safe environment. Artists can also use the reward system to incentivize their supporters. This fosters a sense of community and collaboration. As the bull season is predicted to occur in a few months, I think we might see another NFT craze on the platform.

Splinterlands

Splinterlands is one of the most successful projects built on the Hive blockchain. It demonstrates that being a first mover in the space, coupled with a great product, can lead to success in terms of user base. Continuous development and expansion have kept Splinterlands' gamers and collectors loyal and engaged. The game's social media marketing ensures that the community remains well-engaged with the game and each other, contributing to its top position among Hive-based dApps.

Superhive

I learned about the ongoing development of Superhive from @etblink and am thankful for it. I hadn't heard of this project before, but it seems it's been in development for over two years since its introduction to the community. My basic understanding is that Superhive will allow users to create their own websites and tokens through the Hive-Engine. They can also distribute their tokens or any other Hive-Engine tokens using the Token Distrib tool to incentivize specific groups of users based on their queries. This project is promising and could be highly beneficial to Hive platform users.

Overall, these projects highlight the exciting and innovative developments within the Hive ecosystem, showing its potential for growth and impact.

Yes indeed, the possibilities of Hive are incredible, and you mention some really nice examples here! I must admit that I hadn’t hear of superhive yet, so definitely something I will look into!

True. And the community is also a strong factor in it.

Regarding Superhive, it was open-sourced some time ago and I'm hoping that one of the Devs in the platform will continue the progress.

That is a bit of a pity indeed, projects being left. All the while there is indeed the community, that could take over many of these forgotten projects.

projects being left

sad but true, not sure why but it was funded through DHF but it seems that there are no new proposals for it.

Especially when funded through DHF, one would expect more followup indeed..

I have to agree with you on that. But I'm still hopeful that someone would take it up, it's too good to be kept in the archive.

Can’t but agree!!!
As I already discussed earlier somewhere else, Hive should have a project to keep track of all the running (or not so) projects.

breakaway communties. I wonder if it would be of any benefit to merge some aspects of these projectsI know @spknetwork has a still active open source project called

You just got DUO from @borniet.
They have 1/2 DUO calls left.

Just a few days ago, I was listening to the podcast of an Indian Billionaire, he also quoted that Web3 gaming and social platforms are the future and the beginning has just started. In a way, we are here in a future that has just begun.
Sending Love and Ecency Vote!

We are indeed early and I hope that more people would see why web3 is the future and transition from web3 over here to our platform.

I think it’s about time that Hive will be exposed to the masses and to more developers too.

There are a few Hive projects that are in development and some are just waiting in the drawer. Crypto Company, for example, is another promising project. We can look forward to seeing what else happens on Hive.

I haven’t heard or read about Crypto Company and I’m curious about the project.

Please share a link of their account or post/proposal.

I checked the website and it looks dope 🤩

It's amazing how this blockchain took on a life of its own as the years passed, and the founders went their own ways.

True. It has come a long way and it's still evolving :) I can't wait to see how it grows in the next 5-10 years.

It would be interesting to explore Super HIVE

I think it has a good potential to attract more users and integrate their blog, business, or their real-world project.
