Maybe I am just a little bit cynical, but sometimes it seems to me that a lot of airdrops are structured to be "pretty complicated" specifically with the expectation that a lot of people will drop out along the way.
That might not be a bad thing, actually, as it somewhat limits how many tokens effectively end up in circulation. Still, it can also be rather frustrating for "regular" users.

I think you might be right. Although things don't necessarily need to be complicated, they just need to require some action, potentially repeatedly, and you already lost many of the potential airdrop recipients.
