My Instacart Financial Report - Week 2

My second Instacart paycheck 💸 🛒

Now that I've completed week two of working as an Instacart driver, I'm becoming so much more comfortable with this new gig. I've had to deal with a couple of major setbacks, but that has not kept me from continuing forth and working my ass off. It feels good to finally have something to do with all of my free time and have another nice income to rely on his a lot of stress off my back.

I had car issues at the beginning and end of the week, yet I still made more money than last week. More on that later though.

One thing that sometimes frustrates me is when no batches come up for me to claim. I'll occasionally get this message and will just be stuck sitting in a parking lot until a decent batch finally appears. I consider it a forced break, but I have so much energy that I really don't need breaks unless it's to eat some lunch once a day.

I really wanted to work Mon-Fri again this week, but sadly was unable to due to my car troubles. I did at least manage to do one 8-hour day and it was well worth my time. I successfully accomplished my goal of making $100 in one day. I did it twice actually, one day I made nearly $200.

I plan on doing a weekly Instacart Financial Report like this one, so if you enjoy this kind of content be sure to follow me if you aren't already doing so.

I'm going to be breaking down each day of work individually. Luckily, the Instacart Shopper app makes that extremely easy to do. Let's go ahead and get things started.

Monday, January 16th

I was unable to work on Monday since my car was in the shop, more on that here. I ended up having to spend $625 on a new alternator. I was without my car Sat/Sun/Mon/ and part of Tuesday as well. I may have missed out on the first day of the week, but I had faith it would still be a good week overall.

Tuesday, January 17th

I didn't get started until late on Tuesday since it took the car shop a few hours to install my new part. Once I did finally get going though, the day was a good one. My hourly rate was strong, which means I was doing a good job of selecting batches and being quick to complete them.

I made about $21/hr on this day.

The major lesson I learned on Tuesday is that it is never too late to start doing Instacart. I feel best doing it early in the morning and then some more in the late afternoon and early evening. However, there is money to be made at any hour, you just have to get out there and get it.

My tips and batch earnings were pretty much equal for this day. I didn't have any great tippers, but I also didn't have any terrible ones. I can't complain about making $63 in just 3 hours.

Wednesday, January 18th

wedjan18.jpg

Oh boy, what a day Wednesday turned out to be. I told myself before bed on Tuesday night that I was dedicating the entire day to Instacart and would just see what happens. I had planned to skip the gym this day and that would save me nearly two hours of time. It paid off big time! This is by far my highest earning day and it is also the first time I worked for 8 hours in one day. I started before 8 am and didn't finish until after 6 pm. I did take a break for an hour to come home and cook some lunch. Other than that, I worked from sun up to sun down.

I made about $23.12/hr on this day.

If you're willing to put in the effort, you can make some great money with Instacart. I worked a job that I hated for 9 years because I thought the pay was pretty good. When I quit that job, I was making around $25 an hour. Now I am working a job that I genuinely enjoy so much and make just about the same. The best part is I'm not required to work 40+ hours every single week and my schedule can open up any time I need to. To put it plainly, Instacart is my favorite job that I've ever had.

As you can see, my tips were more than double my batch earnings. This is what allowed me to earn so much. I not only found good orders to do and did them at a rapid pace, but I also just had a few really great tippers. One of the people from my first $50 order tipped me a whopping $37. I got a few $15 tips this day too. These generous people really made me feel like I did not waste my time working all day long.

Thursday, January 19th

This may have not been my highest earning day, but it probably would have been if I had been able to work more. I got started early again but took an extended break halfway through the day to cook lunch and then go to the gym. After the gym, I got stuck waiting an hour for a worthwhile order. By the time I finally accepted the last one, it wasn't even worth that much, but it was a small order and the house was located right next to the store.

I made about $25.36/hr on this day.

I probably would have kept going after that final order, but sadly I was unable to yet again thanks to my car. Right as I was delivering this small order, I noticed something was wrong with my rear suspension. Thank goodness I was able to finish the delivery and I also made it back to my car shop safely. This means I'll be spending yet another entire paycheck (and then some) to get my car running again. I'll have to update the status of my car once I know more. I have a feeling it'll be a minimum of $500 again, most likely more.

Tips were pretty good Thursday, but not quite as good as Wednesday. The thing that really boosted my pay on Thursday is the fact that I completed these orders at such a high speed. A few of them only took me a few minutes to find all of their items. The majority of my time spent working was driving to their houses from the store. One of my orders was an absolute pain to deliver. I had to make three trips to carry the items to the girl's apartment. It was about 200 ft of walking and then up three flights of stairs. She had two 24-packs of water too, so that was fun. She was at least nice and even boosted my tip since I didn't ask her to help me carry her stuff inside. Plus, the apartment complex was right across the street from @flowerbaby's work, so I was able to stop by briefly and see her.

Friday, January 20th

Friday was yet another day of sitting around and waiting to find out what was wrong with my car. Since I had no way to drive around, that meant no Instacart. It's a shame because I was so close to getting over $400 in one week. I guess I know what my goal is next week. I look forward to when I finally get to work Mon-Fri with an 8-hour day sprinkled in there. I think I can make $500 in a week at some point, if not more. I'm really hoping that I can get back to driving by Monday or Tuesday again, but we shall see.

End of week hours and pay 🤑

finalpayweek2.jpg

My weekly pay was about $350 and I barely worked over 15 hours. If I had been able to work as many hours as last week, I'd have most likely earned around $450 in total.

I made about $22.50/hr on average this past week.

My goal for next week is to stay above $20/hr and work anywhere from 15-25 hours. This will be difficult to make happen since I'm not sure when I'll have my car back. If I can work as much as I'd like to, then I'll have another solid week I'm sure.

A massive increase from last week 👀

week2vsweek1.jpg

If you compare Week 2 to my Week 1 Instacart Financial Report you can quite clearly see that I'm making some great progress. I'm finishing orders more quickly, my tips have gone up, and I now know which batches to avoid.

My motto is "No tip, no delivery"

AWESOME! 💪😁💲💲💲

tips are GOOD! :)

and good thing u got a nice car to site and wait in..

🤣😂
& yea true, chilling in my car isn’t too bad.

Mann this is a great job, you have the control of you schedule and earn a lot if you are disciplined enought, i'm really happy for you!! it would be interesting to know how much money you have left after paying gas+taxes

It’s so much better than most jobs. I only spend about $40/week on gas. Taxes, yeah that’ll be interesting to find out at the end of this year.

Well come on, not bad anyway and at least you've recovered part of the money from the alternator; next week you'll be great I'm sure, can't wait to read the report!

Vamooooos!!!

If each week continues to increase in total earnings, I'll be one happy man.

I will be too for you, go Bro! 💪💪💪

great that you can recover some of the money invested in the repair of your vehicle, also it seems like a good job where earning around $20 a day is amazing and in a few hours

The job is pretty great, I'm lucky to have the opportunity.

You did great on week #2! Considering the rough start with your car, the finish was a winner. Congrats on the hard work!

Week 3 may not be quite this good due to having to take more days off, but I think Week 4 and beyond should show what I'm really capable of with Instacart.

Good looking forward! I know you'll do great

My weekly pay was about $350

Nice. you will soon recover money you spent repairing your car.

I believe the same. I also think I can hit $500 in a week here soon.

Instacart is like grab here in my country and after I read your blog, Now I got curious about the earnings of those who are working here.
Yours was awesome!!
And yeah, even I usually give tips only if I like the services..

I am surprised it pays as well as it does. I can't wait to see what my earnings look like after a week with zero car troubles to hold me back.

It's really nice that you have something extra to do everyone is always looking for an extra means of income as hide what they are really doing until finding one on instacart is something really worth it, just hope your car stops giving you trouble so you could make your desired amount every week. Well as for the tips I hope they keep coming in more often and higher than they were before it's just getting yourself a better car or finding the exact problem of your car and I hope the rectify that soon. My favourite part is having to go see
@flowerbaby I hope you got her something nice for lunch to keep her going at work.

I'm hoping my car comes back to life and lets me keep doing this too. The tips are the best part about the pay I think.

and you will do better friend also you have time to spend here with us

keep it up
