They've always required censorship. Or at least you can't use it with certain material (sexually explicit for example). They've been around 20 years so I think they've already exceeded short lived. Doesn't mean they aren't the devil :).

No,I mean them allowing ads on Inleo will be short lived, because they'll eventually require a much more robust moderation policy to conform to their ToS. It's happened many times on platforms promoting free speech, Minds.com being one of them. It'll be the same if they(khal) makes an app and try to offer it through Google Play
I can't speak for apps but as far as web content, adsense will generally just not display ads on pages with content that violates the TOS. They don't ban ads from the domain outright. At least that has been my experience.
