But prices are coming down. My first flatscreen was a 46-inch (I think). It was an early 1080p model and cost around $1800. Still works and still mostly happy with it. Doesn't take much when you grew up with 19-21" low def tube sets, lol.

jajaja yeah I feel you, Im from that era too, I currently have 1080p tvs at home two 55 and one 32 inch but this time around planing to replace the living room one with a 4k but deciding what to get, I have been getting 4k content, my monitor supports 4k and most of the time is such a massive difference
