If you're on this platform, a decentralized platform shouldn't be new to you because you're already using one. There have been a lot of people asking for a decentralized social media platforms and we have a couple of them out there doing great.
Having a decentralized social media is necessary and it is beneficial when some factors are put into consideration. One of the major benefits is that there won't be censorship. It won't be possible for your content or account to be taken down by any singular controlling body.

This takes me to a Twitter post made by Elon about Twitter adhering to the social media democracy rule.
Musk's post which was in form of a poll has gathered above 2 million votes with 70% of Twitter users voted that Twitter is not adhering to the free speech principal.
As a follow up tweet, Musk asked if a new platform is needed.
I must say that we don't need a new platform because we can't witness another era of monopoly in the social media space again, there are decentralized platforms outside and many more are still coming.
I was happy to see that one of the apps on the Hive blockchain, 3Speak, responded under his tweet because the world needs to know that something is going on.
Dapp.com currently has a list containing 257 social media apps some of which includes Socios, Minds, 3 Speak, Torum, PeakD and a host of others.

This shows that a whole lot of projects are out there towards ensuring a decentralized social media.
I still feel that if Elon Musk had known about the social media decentralized apps out there, he might not have asked that question.
