Early last year around this period, I started my journey in the blogging space. I have tried my hands on a couple of other digital skills but I just felt to try out blogging being one of the few niches that I haven't tried out.
I joined some Facebook groups to see those already in that space then after some weeks, I bought a domain name and hosting. From what I read while making my research, I learned thee are many niches one can blog on, and to be a successful blogger, you need to stick to a niche rather than be a generalist.

There were many options for me to choose from, n=but I later settled down with writing on tech. I was not sure If it was something I would keep doing for a long time especially because the reward is not instantaneous. Let me explain what I mean, to make money through blogging on web2, you need to have a substantial amount of traffic to your blog site because this is what determines your click rate. Getting traffic to your site is great to work even to the best blogger, it doesn't come easy. You will need to do a whole lot of work and your SEO game must be top-notch.
Back to my story, I eventually started blogging, I was learning and consistently uploading content, I did this for about a month then I stopped. Why did I stop you may ask. Well, I stopped because I couldn't afford to renew my hosting plan by the time it was due in April last year, so I had to abandon it for a while, at least till I have enough money to renew the hosting. I called a friend of mine, Ayo who helped out then and I returned. But I kept going on and off whenever it was time to renew my hosting and I wasn't stable till around late August. It was since then that I have been consistent in publishing, my articles but there is another problem. I was hoping that Google would activate my website for its Adsense program, but I kept being rejected after applying severally, that alone really frustrated me, after all, I've gone through, and yet I was being rejected?
At some points, I felt like maybe something is wrong with the site so perhaps, I should just create a new one. and abandon the site, but after thinking about the stress and challenges I have passed through before I was able to set it up, I decided to continue to run it and I still publish articles on it.
Then December last was when I started to hear about web 3 and I started to make my findings. I read every blog post I could get on it, I also spent hours watching some related videos on YouTube. After some days, I started getting familiar with it.
Most of the opportunities I was seeing were openings for web3 developers, at a point, I considered switching my career path from content writing to web3 developer because I didn't want to miss out on this new web opportunity. But then I thought of it that it would take a long time since I don't have a coding background. Then I thought to myself, why don't I just continue what I'm good at which is content writing. That was how I decided to search for a web3 platform for content writers, I saw some platforms but I didn't consider them good enough, and about 3 months after my search began, I came across Hive.
I am happy that I can finally write my content without having to worry about renewing my hosting or waiting indefinitely to be accepted by a third-party advertiser.
I plan to be on Hive for a very long time as I make my contribution to the web3 ecosystem in form of high-quality writing.
