Ein Grund für den jüngsten Abverkauf findet sich in den Rekordabflüssen der Bitcoin Spot ETFs, nachdem diese zuvor für jede Menge positive Schlagzeilen gesorgt hatten. Der Kurs sackte zeitweise von seinem Allzeithoch bei rund 73.750 USD bis auf 60.700 USD ab.
Doch geht es nach den Analysten von JPMorgan, so ist eine Ausweitung der Korrektur im Vorfeld des mit Spannung erwarteten Halvings im April wahrscheinlich.
Ein anhaltend hohes Open Interest der Bitcoin CME Futures (BTC) zusammen mit rückläufigen ETF-Strömen sind signifikante bearishe Signale für Kryptowährung, schrieben die Strategen.
"Da wir uns dem Halving nähern, ist es wahrscheinlicher, dass sich diese Gewinnmitnahmen fortsetzen, insbesondere vor dem Hintergrund einer Positionierung, die trotz der jüngsten Korrektur immer noch überkauft aussieht.“
Die Trendwende unterstreicht vor allem eines: Wenn die großen Bitcoin-ETF-Emittenten im Auftrag ihrer Kunden kaufen, dann sind diese erworbenen BTC nicht wortwörtlich dauerhaft “vom Markt genommen.” Stattdessen können BlackRock & Co. auf Wunsch der gleichen Anleger ebenso schnell wieder ihre Bitcoin-Bestände reduzieren, genau wie es bei Aktien-, Gold- oder Anleihen-ETFs vorkommt.

Die vergleichsweise hohen Gebühren von 1,5 Prozent gelten als Hauptgrund für die enormen Kapitalabflüsse des Grayscale-ETFs. Zum Vergleich: Keiner der neun anderen Bitcoin-ETF-Anbieter verlangt mehr als 0,3 Prozent an Gebühren. Insgesamt verzeichnete der Fonds in den 49 Handelstagen seit der SEC-ETF-Genehmigung Abflüsse in Höhe von fast 12,9 Milliarden US-Dollar.
Seit dem 22. Januar 2023 steht der Indikator auf Bullenzyklus, seit Anfang März 2024 notiert der Wert deutlich höher und zeigt einen sogenannten “überhitzten Bullenzyklus” an. Immerhin: Zum Zeitpunkt des Schreibens ist der Indikator von “überhitzt” auf “Bullenzyklus” gefallen. Die Korrektur kommt also zum richtigen Zeitpunkt, um den Markt wieder etwas abzukühlen.

Mein persönliches Fazit:
In einem Bullenmarkt sind Korrekturen von 30% nicht unüblich. Bis zum Halving könnte Bitcoin meiner Meinung nach noch auf $50.000 fallen und somit den gesamten Kryptomarkt nach unten ziehen. Nach dem Halving beginnt nach meiner Erfahrung der Altcoin Sommer. Die enormen Kurssteigerungen von Hive, Ethereum, Solana und Co waren nur die Vorboten. In den nächsten Wochen könnte sich noch einmal eine günstige Chance ergeben in den Kryptomarkt erneut zu investieren.

Bitcoin price experienced a sharp correction after reaching a new record high. One reason for the recent sell-off can be found in the record outflows of Bitcoin spot ETFs, after they had previously generated a lot of positive headlines. The price temporarily fell from its all-time high of around USD 73,750 to USD 60,700.
But according to analysts at JPMorgan, the correction is likely to extend ahead of the much-anticipated halving in April.
Continued high Bitcoin CME futures (BTC) open interest along with declining ETF flows are significant bearish signals for the cryptocurrency, the strategists wrote.
"As we approach the halving, it is more likely that this profit-taking will continue, especially given positioning that still looks overbought despite the recent correction."
The turnaround underlines one thing above all: When the major Bitcoin ETF issuers buy on behalf of their customers, then these purchased BTC are not literally permanently “taken off the market.” Instead, at the request of the same investors, BlackRock & Co. can just as quickly reduce their Bitcoin holdings, just as happens with stock, gold or bond ETFs.
We are, so to speak, at the end of the first phase of the game, in which the pent-up demand for purchases has hopefully been satisfied and the pent-up demand for sales has hopefully also been satisfied.

The comparatively high fees of 1.5 percent are considered the main reason for the enormous capital outflows of the Grayscale ETF. For comparison: None of the nine other Bitcoin ETF providers charge more than 0.3 percent in fees. In total, the fund has seen outflows of nearly $12.9 billion in the 49 trading days since the SEC ETF approval.
The indicator has been on a bull cycle since January 22, 2023, and the value has been significantly higher since the beginning of March 2024, indicating a so-called “overheated bull cycle”. After all: at the time of writing, the indicator has fallen from “overheated” to “bull cycle”. So the correction comes at the right time to cool the market down a bit.

My personal conclusion:
In a bull market, corrections of 30% are not uncommon. In my opinion, Bitcoin could still fall to $50,000 before the halving and thus drag the entire crypto market down. In my experience, the altcoin summer begins after the halving. The enormous price increases of Hive, Ethereum, Solana and Co were just the harbingers. In the next few weeks there could be another good opportunity to invest in the crypto market again.
