Trading SPL Node for Lux Vega: A Risky Decision Worth Making?

Believing in Splinterlands

Today's post is a little different from the previous ones.
I'll be talking about an important decision I made and why I made it.

I have been playing Splinterlands for almost two years now. At times, I have played myself in the rankings and at other times, I have used a bot. However, since I started playing the game, I have believed in it. Everything about Splinterlands is great, even compared to other games. The regular updates, feedback, and Q&A sessions have only strengthened my belief in the game.

That's why I was financially careless and invested a large sum of money (for me) in Splinterlands. One of the things I gained from this investment was three SPL Nodes. At that time, it was mainly an investment in the future, both for me and for Splinterlands. It was also comforting to know that, at that time, when I wasn't playing much, there was a form of passive income.

I want to play

Now, something has changed for me. I have more time now, time that I would like to spend with Splinterlands. So, I started posting on PeakD and I put in a lot of effort to bring high-quality content. I think a lot about the game, which is the reason why I do this.

Also, I want to play more myself, and I find myself now causing trouble in Diamond 3-2. However, it's not enough for more because my deck is not big enough or the cards have too low level.

Revamping my Splinterlands Deck: The Case for Lux Vega

Where do I start revising my deck? For me, it was clear that I needed to start with the summoners. So, I used the first HBD of my posts to bring my Quix to level 4. But there was still one more summoner, one that opens many doors for you - Lux Vega.

Lux Vega is a summoner that is almost always playable and works well with almost all cards.

But how can I afford her without being financially imprudent again?

I started to consider selling one of my SPL Nodes, but someone would have to buy it first. And then a Lux Vega would have to be available for sale after my SPL Node was sold.
This is not always clear, especially with such high-priced items.

But before I finalized my thought, I had to take another look at the prices.
And the passive income what I will then no longer get.

Currently you get for a SPL node about 4 vouchers and 20 SPS per day.

That is: (SPS) 20 x 0,027$ = 0,54$; (Voucher) 4 x 0,106$ = 0,424$; (Total) 0,964$

And you can also rent Lux Vega, for 590 DEC a day, which is just under 0.50$.

So with one SPL Node I can borrow almost two Lux Vega a day.

But there are a few other things I have to consider. When I own Lux Vega, I can always play it. I don't have to hope that someone will offer it for rent. When the SPL node network goes live, can I set all my nodes online to still get the passive income?

Final Decision

So after a few days I have made the decision, I will ask if someone wants to swap with me.

And then everything went very fast, after only 15 minutes after I asked in the official Splinterlands Discord, @dais12 wrote me. And we were ready to trade with each other.

Since it was the first time I traded via Discord, I let myself be guided a bit. So I also asked dais12 to organize a middle man. Nevertheless, it was clear to me, there is always a risk with something like this, but if we find someone who is an honorable member of the community or a moderator then it is ok for me.

Luckily @Hawks21 has agreed to help us. (His YouTube)

He made sure that both parties (dais12 and me) want to make the exchange with said items.

Then he got the items sent from us, and after receiving them, forwarded them to the other party accordingly.

All went smooth. So big shoutout to both of them again. Please check out Hawks21 and show him some love, he is also a great contentcreator on YouTube.

Conclusion

Attention

It's important to note that peer-to-peer trading comes with risks and it's essential to be cautious. Always check the reputation of the other party and make sure to use a trusted middleman if possible. Scammers are prevalent in online trading, so it's crucial to take necessary precautions to avoid getting scammed. Stay safe and trade with reputable individuals to ensure a successful transaction.

I am HAPPY

In conclusion, trading my SPL Node for Lux Vega was a difficult decision that required careful consideration of multiple factors. While I had to sacrifice my passive income from the SPL Node, owning Lux Vega gave me the ability to always play it and potentially increase my rankings. The trade was successful and went smoothly. Overall, the trade was worth it for me as I gained a valuable summoner and the potential to improve my gameplay. Now i can focus to level up my base cards.

as a player's perspective, I think you did right because without Lux winning in modern format is hard.

Thanks for the vote.

Yea, i think so too. I focus on modern, building from chaos to the future.
