I have made hive my second home and been here for 6 years, since steemit days. Relationship and connectivity matters more than just write a post here.

I think most leave because they feel like they are not making enough.

Can understand this, sometimes it feels like it's not as easy to get into the circle of people who upvotes each others, even though you are producing also good content. But it's for sure possible with consistency I believe! 💪

Did you meet up at events? etc...
I got to know them through splinterlands and the splinterfest mostly. Funny though I never check splinterlands much anymore.

yeah. We chat about it off and on. I think they now feel like they have missed the boat.
I Leo might bring them back.

It brought me back.
While some have left and can't reach out to them again, I still have many of them that we still communicate often. The goal for me is to keep up with each other even if the chain isn't there anymore.
