HIVE Holds High

We're in a middle of a whirlwind - again - in our crypto universe. Bitcoin is bleeding - again - and the alts aren't feeling better either. As crypto veterans, we know this happens every few months (although we may see significant crashes monthly, if the trend continues), but that doesn't mean we don't take notice.

In the middle of this whirlwind, HIVE shows - again - surprisingly high levels of resilience. The 3000 satoshi level was protected heavily and, as a result, we didn't see under $1.5 levels.

I don't know from where this comes, because volume is still very thin, which means a sudden move in any direction is possible, but I have a few theories. One of them is that significant whales are keeping the price "up" because they know something. Something that we obviously don't. It might be the January 6th SPK airdrop, or something else, I have no idea. All I see is resilience in HIVE price.

Bitcoin is still very unstable, though, and as the end of the year approaches, and volatility increases, we may expect some ripples into the HIVE ecosystem too.

If those ripples will be just as small as the ones that we've seen in the last few hours, I won't be upset.

I promise.

does Hive need to be powered up as Hive Power or can it also be Liquid Hive in the Wallet in order to qualify for the Airdrop ?

I was thinking the same thing, would love clarification on this...

Fairly sure they said liquid hive will count as well for the drop.

Awesome, thanks for the info!

Lots of good things happening on the chain at the moment.
A lot of the hive now is in the hands of people with long term goals and it's not as easy to shake it out.
Not when we see progress and positivity.

Would hang onto whatever you have and ride the storm, extreme inflation is bashing every country with no end in sight thanks to grinding halt in economies over last two years.

One of them is that significant whales are keeping the price "up" because they know something. Something that we obviously don't.

Hopefully it is a pleasant surprise. If that is the case, then I am ready for it. Maybe it will be a Christmas gift.

Either way, I wish Merry Christmas for everyone.

I like the fact that Hive seems to be holding up well on such low volume... normally, it just tends to drift down and down after a high volume spike.

One of the things I found very interesting was the way Hive was already rising significantly on low volume before the spike to the new ATH. In fact, Hive had already moved gradually from 70-80 cents to about $1.30 BEFORE anything very active happened.

Could be there are just a lot of use cases requiring Hive, giving people fewer reasons to sell and more reasons to buy. With SPK and LeoFinance's "Project Blank" around the corner, it wouldn't surprise me to see another run fueled not by FUD, but by a liquidity squeeze.

Yes, there is a clear demand, much more than a year ago.

What is the 'January 6th air drop'? Where can I find more information?
