3/ Those events coincided with appointment of Andrei Belousov as new defence minister and rose speculation about massive purge of Shoigu's cadre. Kremlin spokesman Dimitry Peskov denied any purge and claimed that fight against corruption is "ongoing activity" and "not a campaign".
