HIVE quintupled in 48 hours!

in LeoFinance5 years ago

HIVE, the native currency of our beloved new blockchain, has quintupled (5x) in the past 2 days! From 0.12 USD to 0.64 - putting it at 4 times the value of STEEM!

By most accounts, this move began when Huobi (a crypto exchange) announced they now transact in HIVE, and introduced a contest to raise awareness of the currency.

While I myself don't use exchanges, and certainly never hold any currency there, options like this are clearly good news for all of us.

What's next?

We don't know if the move is finished yet, so this might not be the top yet. But at some point, my instincts tell me there will be a correction. Not all the way back down to 0.12, but perhaps about half of that distance. When the contest ends, some participants will dump the HIVE they purchased to try to win. Not everybody is going to keep this HIVE and power it up forever. So when it hits the market, upward momentum will turn, and the currency will migrate into stronger hands (for another eventual move upward).

Check out this comparison:

I think cryptomarketcap should add HIVE to their rankings! Looks like HIVE has 3x more market cap than STEEM!

I continue to post to both chains, and don't intend to sling any mud, but it's nice to see Hive gaining acceptance and value.

Hive alive!

Cool man I'm glad I could be here to help along the way. Within the next week just beware that I am updating all of the votes and doing a full token audit.

I didn't make any changes because I felt that you of all people deserved to get some of the reward back in the form of extra votes this month.

Another big reason is because I was waiting for Steem-engine to update their Explorer function because it isnt working fully... this has caused me to put a hiatus on project updates because of the labor intensive calculations.

Long story short we are actually going to mirror our actions on both blockchains using the Steem-engine CANNA token as a control and utility token still.

This means that any posts on either blockchain will be rewarded with Canna project votes for holding our CANNA token. We are fully supporting HIVE as you can clearly see haha!

Hey guys (or guy, not sure who said that!)...

Thanks for your help along the way!

Yeah, tokens. I was late getting involved, and I guess I'm late getting out? Seems like steem-engine is dying. I've been liquidating everything but the market has kind of shat the bed. I basically got 0 for my 3000 WEED, for example. Fun.

I appreciate the votes. I like to think I earn them, as good cannabis content is the intended recipient of support from cannabis curation projects.... but that's of course up to you. So I thank you for any votes you've given me, and I hope you've gotten something out of my photography, videos, research, etc.

That's pretty cool you guys will be on both sites. I was worried there for a minute you weren't going to be able to do so. For me, I think I'll post to both, but I'm a little wary of investing in Steem at the moment. The shakeup at the top rattled me, and the censorship creeping in bugs me quite a bit. Sorry to be a downer. I still endorse people checking out both chains, and being a part of whichever one or ones they like!

So you guys will have a CANNA token on hive-engine, or...?

Keep on toking in the free world, bros! Stay lifted : D

We don't know if it will stay this high... but maybe it will, or even go higher?
It feels good to finally be able to move a post payout (even if it's just by 1 cent) with our vote. : ))

Wow! The 5000-or-so HIVE that you sent Edgar for the [MAP] project (to buy him a water pump for his farm) is now worth $3750 USD! He could buy 2 or 3 pumps now!

Yes, perhaps 4 pumps. It's amazing that we struggled for almost 2 years to get that target of 1300 USD, and once we did, the value of the tokens shoots up. I'm happy it was Edgar holding the bag when the price jumped. He deserves it. Not that we don't need money too, as we're barely keeping ourselves fed and bills paid, but he's going without running water. That's serious. I hope he's able to make the purchase soon (once the lockdown ends) and lock in our success. It would hurt to see the value drain away over the next few weeks, and Edgar unable to capitalize. I hope some of these gains don't end up slipping through his fingers.

Now I'm seeing 0.68 USD!
Incredible move. I wonder how much of it will be sustained long term.

Currently 75 cents!
Will the excitement bring in new people to the blockchain?

My upvotes are worth a dime, again! It has been over 2 years since that happened.
New users will arrive to enjoy dimes for posting comments on my content ; D

Fun times for HIVE for sure!!f1q2m6.jpg

Couldn't even make it to the end of the triangle pattern! Up we go. :P

Buyers everywhere right now!

I notice that HIVE is now #36 in terms of market cap! It isn't included in cryptomarketcap because of politics. They only include cryptos they agree with, apparently. But if it was on that site, it would be #36.

That’s amazing!!

Most exciting thing I have seen for awhile!
Yeah I see a very good reason to post to both, especially if Your in it to win it!
The competition is good for the little guy!
Anyone notice the "tip jar"???

I haven't noticed a tip jar, no. Sounds useful... especially if we can tip from powered up funds.
Yeah I agree, competition is good. That's the free market, for ya!
And reaching a broader audience is important. I'm here to be heard, not just for profits... but profits help, no doubt.

It's good though 😊!!

It's just the best thing that can happen in search a time.

Definitely been hoping myself that Hive will at least hill half it's gains.

Oh yeah? Not sure what you meant by "hill". I assume either "give back" or "hold on".

Please stop using fraudulent CMC. @coingecko is much better. The top of this latest move was almost one usd. Perhaps the bulls will return very soon and make a new high. Steem is now .23 usd almost because of this move. Your post is old news lacking fundamentals.

I don't use CMC. I pointed out that they're wrong to not include HIVE. A lot of people DO use CMC regularly, and having HIVE appear (where it should be) would be a good thing. Your comment is old news lacking critical thinking and tact.

Old news it may be but I just learned. Very few of my comments have tact but pleasure to make your aquaintance. Why do you speak as if hive is not listed at all. To everyone looking in it appears to be listed fraudulently. I only used CMC until very recently for some comparisons. You didnt provide an alternative to CMC in this post. I dont want to be so critical just wanted to throw out @coingecko.

Thanks for mentioning coingecko, and yes, I could have done so in the post. It certainly wasn't a masterpiece, and I don't know why it achieved such a good payout, but I won't complain because I do a LOT of hard work which people seem to want/need, yet rarely get more than a few dimes.
I don't employ much tact for the most part either, so I probably shouldn't have mentioned it.
Anyway, will look forward to your comments on my upcoming posts on the topic, if you have time.
