That is crazy!!! I am not sure how people have survived there, to be honest with you. My brother's best friend was in business with him until he was banned from leaving Venezuela. He was single and considered a flight risk. It is all very sad for the country and the people... Oh, the people! Brave and strong people, continuing even though injustice is heaped upon them.
I pray daily that something will change and become the beautiful country of Venezuela once again.
Yes, it's crazy what has happened here. And honestly, I also look back, and I'm surprised how we managed to survive so much and still be where we are.
But in the end, I think that for now, some things won't change. Crises sometimes bring out the best and the worst in us, and here people have learned to reinvent themselves and look for ways to move forward. What I'm not sure about is that most of them have learned the lesson that populism doesn't help to solve real problems.
