How secure are your passwords? How many sites are registered with your email? Recently i was looking at how many accounts my email are registered, i have over 80 sites with my email signed up. One more thread about security online

Sort:

From time to time i look at my email in the: "https://haveibeenpwned.com/", as i have my email on multiple accounts, after all i am in the internet for years by now, if one of these sites have a security breach my password is compromised.

Data breaches are extremely common, every year cyber criminals get more and more creative and malicious with their attacks. Screenshot_15.png

If you are, like most people in the world, using the same password for every account, you are definetly screwd my good sir, it's only a matter of time. So, how to deal with this problem? I usually solve this by using a password manager.

But i want ot teach you another thing, instead of giving the same advice as everyone like "Use a stronger password" or "Use a password manager" i will teach you something far more cool(Don't forget to do these things please)

One way to make your account a little more safe is checking from time to time if your email is involved in data breaches, but knowing if your emails is already compromised be it from a data breach or from a someone spying on your device is+

Using canary tokens. Basically you acess this site: "https://canarytokens.org/generate#" and select the options in the print.Screenshot_16.png

Of course, you will change the email by your own email, this will generate a canary token pdf file that will trigger a message to your email when opened, you can make a trap, changing the name of the pdf to "Passwords" or "Metamask keys"

This is a easy trick to keep you alert if someone already has acess to your email! But stay alert! Knowing if you are crompromised is not the only way to be secure, always use a password manager and different passwords. Stay safe!

I can't count from how many newsletters and email lists I've unsubscribed, but they are over 100 easy. Great to have you Threading, I hope you enjoy the #thread4fun interface! Also have you checked out the new interface? alpha.leofinance.io
