When 70% of people make money, what they use to do is upgrade their lives, there is nothing in upgrading one’s life but upgrading your life can also mean that you are creating a money pit for yourself. You can upgrade your life just to get stock for many years before they realize it. A common mistake is getting liabilities that are equivalent to our income and I’ve come to realize something about life, it is easy to acquire liability that will sink all your money no matter the amount of money you are making and the more money you make the less happy you become and very difficult for you to save.
When people realize that you have money you become an easy target for them to increase their tariff or the kind of services that they render to you. This is very common in Africa, when they know you are rich or when they look at you from head to toe your outfit determines the kind of Pricing that they give to you. When you look rich people tend to tax you more and if you type that is popular, you become easy targets for lawyers and people all over the world because everybody is trying to work with you just to get their shares. One thing people don’t know is that looking rich or creating a rich standard takes a lot of money away from you.
Leave below your means
Apart from the fact that Living below your standard lets you save a lot of money by not buying what you want but mostly sticking to what you need, it also helps you not to be a target for ridiculous prices. Trying to set a standard for yourself can make you unhappy, especially if you are living in a neighborhood where everybody loves buying new things. If you keep grading your lifestyle based on what your neighbors are buying it might make you less happy because any time you don’t have the money to buy the latest things your neighbors are buying no amount of the money you are making you feel like you’re not doing great in life.
When you tell people to live below, that means what they think you are saying is that they should look homeless but that is not it you can make yourself feel comfortable without any external pressure of buying new things or looking so rich to the extent that you become an easy target for people. Sometimes when you don’t look like the kind of money you are making it makes you save money and not only that it gives you peace of mind. one of the mistakes we make early in our life is wanting to look rich, but this can easily deplete our income and make it very hard for us to become richer based on the fact that we become an easy target to the outside world.
Take your time
I’m not saying you should look homeless but what I’m saying is that you shouldn’t make a noise with your money to the extent that it becomes noticeable to people because it makes you spend more money and also it makes it very difficult for you to grow your Finances.
