Yesterday, when I discussed luck, I explained its crucial role in our journey to success and how it can make a significant difference. Yet, the issue with luck is that people perceive it in various ways. Some view it as an excuse, while others see it as an opportunity for improvement. Those who use luck as an excuse tend to be less motivated and often look for shortcuts to success. The first group of individuals who rely on luck as an excuse is the one that undermines your hard work and the time you’ve invested.
People often use the word "luck" to downplay effort. Instead of acknowledging your hard work and praising you for your achievements, they attribute your success to luck, implying that you haven't done anything significant. However, in the grand scheme of things, your effort and intelligence play a crucial role in your success. While luck may be a factor in your journey, it is your dedication and hard work that increase your chances of "getting lucky." On the other hand, some individuals use luck as an excuse because they are unwilling to put in the effort. These people often seek shortcuts and wish to jump straight to success without going through the necessary processes.
Cutting the process might work for some people in the past or for someone you know, but no guarantee will work for you.
Many people in Africa start their day by visiting betting shops, and some even gamble on their phones throughout the day. I've heard that while some of them do make money, this income often only places them in the top 1% of wealth. However, relying on gambling is not a guaranteed path to success or wealth. Instead, it often leads to skipping the necessary steps to achieve real progress. You may know someone who won the lottery or hit a jackpot, but such outcomes are rare and not applicable to everyone. Sometimes, we need to focus on more reliable ways to achieve genuine progress in life.
We have observed individuals who obtain money through questionable methods, such as scamming others or even stealing from banks. These people often seek to bypass the hard work involved in becoming wealthy. However, they lack the knowledge and skills necessary to manage the money they acquire through these illegal means. As a result, most of them struggle to effectively handle or maintain their ill-gotten gains because they do not have the experience or understanding of what it takes to sustain such wealth.
Even if you skip the process, you still need the knowledge and experience to manage such success. That is why you see most lottery winners, end up broke after a few years.
There is a saying: "The harder I work, the luckier I get." Luck tends to favor those who are actively engaged, working hard, and employing smart strategies while positioning themselves within a system. The daily efforts one puts forth to increase their chances of experiencing good fortune. However, relying on luck as an excuse for not being productive can potentially jeopardize our lives. Luck doesn't eliminate the need for hard work, nor should it be used to downplay someone else's efforts and time.
thanks for your time.
