EOS freezes transfers to block.one
Well, it's official: EOS is cool again!
EOS community halts payments worth $250 million in EOS to Block.one and Brock Pierce
- Block.one was set to receive a further 67 million EOS over the next six to seven years, from the EOS blockchain.
- But the community has revolted, cancelling further payments — and wants to acquire the rights to the EOS intellectual property.
Hm, yeah... that's what I'm talking about.
Once again we see the greed of the founding company catalyze its own obsolescence. Much like the ninjamine being sold to Justin Sun, the billion dollar ICO for EOS was supposed to fund development. What happened? They just bought Bitcoin and held it... lol. Honestly I'm not saying that wasn't a smart move but it doesn't really matter if the move was smart or not. The entire point was that Block. One would be developing EOS, and they haven't at all.
It is becoming clear that this is going to happen over and over again, in one way or another. The centralized premined stakes of these communities will not allowed to just run around and do whatever they want with the money like the CEO of a company would. These are not corporations, and it's developments like these that prove that time and time again.
Once investors start realizing this is going to happen over and over and over again... they are going to be looking for the old school communities that have already dealt with this problem and handled it. Hive is going to get a lot more attention, because the Steem hostile takeover was pretty much the first time this happened. Hive is a template for what is going to happen to a lot of other networks.
And don't forget that Hive was scraping rock bottom at ten cents for a long long time before we pulled our own asses out of the gutter. Crypto investors don't want to stick it out like that: they want instant gratification. They want to invest in something that isn't guaranteed to bleed like that. Hive finds itself in a good spot. In fact, now that EOS is revolting I think they are in a pretty good spot as well, even though the EOS revolution has just started.
Conclusion
There's going to be a huge shift in capital during one of these many bull markets we get to participate in. Sooner or later, investors are going to see patterns like: "Gee, I think centralized premines are bad!". YA THINK!?!
Only then will these investors actually pull their funds out of the centralized garbage (ironically making the centralized garbage even more centralized) and put it somewhere safer; Somewhere that has already dealt with these problems and perhaps won't have to deal with them again. Everyone is looking at Solana like there is no possible way that their centralized stake could come back to bite them in the ass. LOL, good luck with that. Solana isn't an ETH killer and even ETH is centralized to hell.
Hive is surprisingly more decentralized than both SOL and ETH, and it has a better distribution mechanic and a decentralized funding mechanism. We are finally seeing all the work that's been done pay off, and that's nice. However, now that we are seeing some success I'm also rooting for communities like EOS to break away from those who would try to control them and leech their value into their own pockets without giving anything back.

Fuck Block.One. I feel like EOS could've been great but the ruined it. Maybe now it can be great again. Make EOS great again!
From what i see from reading @Dan's feed in Telegram, he is intending a rebrand of EOS, not a fork, ticker name to stay the same, and to use a revised EdenonEoS governance system with Proof of Person. i like what i see so far, except for the lack of anonymity. i'm confident The Matrix-8 Solution (with anonymous concentrated consensus mechanism and Trusted Reputation score, and groups of 8 instead of 5 with EdenOnEOS) would be purer democratically, as the anonymity reduces (possibly entirely) the risk of coercive violence.
Dans feed (a good starting point in the feed) is here: https://t.me/daneos/16701 but new white paper due iut in 3 weeks i think.

I wonder how much this may have been influenced by our move. I’m sure that if anyone in crypto knows about hive it’s probably the community of the other DPoS developed by the same guy.
Anyway good for them. Hope it works out well, and maybe it will make my EOS investment from forever ago worth something.
I believe there's more to come in the blockchain that will definitely see it progress than what it is now with better improvement that awaits.
Dan Larimer tweeted about how well EOS was doing and if you read the responses, most had a lot of negative things to say to him.

I was a huge EOS fan when it was developed and when it just launched. It needed work, it got worse. I gave up on it. The tech is great, (I think Dan got it right with this one though)... exciting times. Ready to buy the crash?!
What are the odds of a future community revolt on Eth once it goes proof of stake? My odds are increasing everyday.
I've been watching that unfold for a while,.. Going to get interesting soon. Block1 has done a pretty disappointing job to be fair.
Wonder how long until Link starts glaring at Sergy!

Cheerio Block.one, don't let the door hit your arse on the way out!
You can’t launch a protocol that features a system of decentralised governance, do nothing but leave promises unfulfilled and not expect to be overthrown.
Go back and play in the corporate world, your money and status will allow you to fit in much better over there.
But it's important to note that now that the community is in control of the network, EOS isn't going to magically fulfil its potential overnight.
Now the EOS community is in charge, they no longer have anyone else to blame but themselves if things continue to fall to shit.
It's going to be a long, hard slog from here.

What a coincidence. See my last post of today. Maybe I felt this was coming.. maybe my crypto feeling is evolving after years of mistakes. Only hive is my best choice.

GO EOS! We believe.
I mean.. If you have ever heard Brock Pierce live or see him out of the camera lights... Im glad the community is finally getting away with the old greedy 2013-14 scammy "personality" dudes.
My final boss is Eric Vorhees, an extremely cautious and intelligent scammer that has gaslighted an entire crypto generation. He has a dozen corpses under his carpet, Salt amongst others.
But yeah, its exciting to see people waking up ^_^

good coverage
and Dan moved out just in time again :D
funny how he does that over and over
makes you go Hmmmmm......
could be that or maybe he just realized that he again made the wrong partnership. i was not here when he left steem but from my understanding he had some arguments with Ned. who knows 🤷♂
true.
Sometimes in business you learn more about people the longer you work with them and think "If I had know that..."
It appears to me that @Dan left Steem and Block1 for good reasons. i think he is in integrity
well if i had to pick between Dan and Ned i think i know which side would i pick :D
Ideally we should have been better priced, is it because of more number of hive available, and that is the reason for not priced higher ?
I think EOS breaking away is a good thing because the company can't just be a leech anymore. It will be interesting to see if it does fork away or if it can truly take control of the chain from Block One.

I personally don't like EOS from day one
But they already forked, the brain (stakeholder's brain) has already left.
I think they don't have a strong community to fork, they depend 100% on block1.
The price only holds because of block.one + friends
I don't know if they have a big enough community to pull off what Hive did but I'm certainly rooting for it.
So they actually traded their own token for a more stable currency and no one had an issue with this until now? I definitely need to pay more attention to EOS for the lulz.

Didn’t Dan get government money from the CIA or something for EOS?

If Block.io is messing up (holding btc? Ridiculous) then we don’t need them , thank god. Hive is decentralized. Still waiting for eos to boom still anyways
