Ultimately the core of this misinformation problem comes from the establishment itself. There are no trustworthy sources of information left. Every single institution has been corrupted and there is zero honor left in the world.
Everyone has an agenda. Everyone mixes in lies with the truth to make the story seem more believable or just to increase shock value and viewership or align with the political demographic being targeted.
It's a really sad state of affairs to realize that some random snippet from 4chan could be more factually accurate than an article written by the Associated Press, and yet time and time again we get clear cut examples of this being the case. The world is upside-down.
Complete lack of trust in the establishment (which is justified) leads to citizens looking for their own answers in a sea of data and misinformation. The outcomes resulting from these developments have not been pretty.
I mean... the press is owned by billionaires, so naturally there's going to be less bias from 'random fuck on 4chan'.
Sure but most people do not think like that.
More folks need to trust billionaires less.
