I would that it were so, but having watched the left and the right swap places regarding censorship, oppressive national security surveillance, and pandering to corporations since the 1980s, I have strong doubts that could be possible.
It'd be nice, but a lot of folks seem to have little in the way of morals, and neither any personal dedication to ethics, but are willing to just go along with the crowd, whichever crowd they latch onto.
