Back in the day this was talked about as a valid strategy in case we wanted to artificially print more HBD without any core code changes. Today it wouldn't work because of the ability to convert Hive into HBD. If the Hive network thought Hive was worth more on the outside then it would completely muck up this entire conversion process. But I thought it was interesting history to mention.
