I would think the scarcity of this would make it more valuable. It is so sad though, that historical silver was melted down in the past. I do wish I still had all that change I found in my aunt and uncle's 'davenport' as they called it, when I was a kid. They used to purposely hide change there for my brother and myself to find. We would then take it home (silver, mind you) and put in the piggy banks we had. Unfortunately, I believe my parents actually spent that change as I don't recall every spending it or taking it to a bank. The piggys were kept up on the top of the kitchen cabinets where we could not reach them. Oh well........
