Perhaps the reason for the pushback is due to the big ask.
It’s a whole lot when we have so many other dApps on Hive that could also benefit from funding. Maybe a more palatable ask would be better received.

I think that was a factor. But a bigger one, from what I could gather from comments and other conversations was the fact that there was no clear details regarding what will be done with the funds
Perhaps also what initially seemed like a heavy-handed threatening ask. It was good to get some background and a better understanding of what's going on behind the scenes. I do hope they keep answering everyone's questions and even consider modifying their ask with more details.
