It's Time For The Dinosaurs To Go

Crypto has revolutionized the world and the process is not over yet, I guess it's never going to be over. Crypto has also divided the world and when I'm saying that, I'm not referring to those who are not yet in crypto, but to those who are opposing it and in some cases banning it, if they have the power to do that.

There's no day without someone famous to make the news for saying something stupid or against crypto. It's a free world, free speech is guaranteed in most countries and no matter how rich or powerful you are, you're allowed to say stupid things.

The last one who made the news was Bill Maher, who said yesterday that Bitcoin is stupid and a ponzi scheme and a contributor to global warming.

Today Charlie Munger said Bitcoin's success is disgusting.

"Of course I hate the bitcoin success," Munger said. "And I don’t welcome a currency that’s so useful to kidnappers and extortionists and so forth, nor do I like shuffling out a few extra billions and billions of dollars to somebody who just invented a new financial product out of thin air."
"I think I should say modestly that I think the whole damn development is disgusting and contrary to the interests of civilization," he continued. source

Some of these people who are against crypto have no influence to ban crypto, but the rest has. An example to that are the governments of those countries, where crypto is banned.

The last country to ban crypto is Turkey and according tho them the reason is excessive volatility and a lack of regulation. This is very bad and will have serious consequences.

Crypto is here to stay and can be lifesaving. There are so many countries in which the only hope to make ends meet or to survive is crypto. Take for example Hive. How many are living off Hive or using it to reach financial freedom.

As I stated earlier, this is a free world and freedom of speech is guaranteed in most of the countries, but everything you say can cost you dearly, if you're a public figure. In the digital era once something is out, there's no way back.

The good thing about governments is that are elected and judged by citizens, based on their performance and program. Anti crypto governments have no place in the 21st century, we have to make sure of that. Voting is very important, now more than ever.

I still hope one day, very soon these governments are going to change their minds and adopt crypto, but till then, we have an obligation to do what's right for us.

So go vote a government that represents your interests!

Interesting point of view you offer. I like it.

As for governments banning crypto, most are doing so as you pointed out from fear of losing control. They want to control the narrative, how and what people believe and base their actions (or inactions) on. Fear is their only real weapon and it is what drives them. The intrinsic transparency of blockchain means no more secrets, lies are exposed and the powerless become powerful.

Those notable pundits who speak out against crypto do so because their ignorance keeps them bound to the system that promotes fear and darkness. Otherwise they would have to question their own beliefs and who in the name of Life would ever do that!?

Keep shining your light into the darkness.

Blessed Be.

As far as I'm concerned, this is the only tool we have in hand, to influence our future and we have to use it.

I agree, fear drives these people and are trying to use it to influence the masses, but on the long run they are not going to succeed.

Thank you for the nice comment, have a nice week :)

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

Bill Maher, like everyone, used to say some smart things and some bad things. I remember that in 2001 he was one of the rare public figures to point that attacks on 9/11 weren't "cowardly", namely you aren't coward if you know that you are certainly going to die while doing the attack. Fourteen years later he was laughing when someone told him that Trump could become president.

I don't think anyone should pay too much attention what celebrities and "influencers" say about Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency.

I don't care who says what and honestly I only see these when people start posting here on leo about certain incidents. I don't have time to waste on so called influencers.

Politicians on the other hand are a different category as they have the power to make a lot of damage.

I just came for the Dinosaur photo.

Stayed for the blog post.

Thanks you!

It is not really banned in Turkey. They blocked its payment with credit cards, because Turkish people filled their credit card limits with crypto and buyers financial future is not stable. Central bank explained clearly that they did not ban the crypto currencies.
