Here's the problem with removal of rewards.
- Not everyone can become brand
- Tipping gets random and leans to groupism.
- View based adsense sites are dead, so do social media sites.
- View based economy is game
- Follower count based economy requires looks, authority, connections.
- If we turn hive from reward based to substack style paywall or tip based, we collapse overnight.
- If we retain rewards along with additional monetization, there is a hope.
Good take and I don't think the rewards will be removed, but maybe was a good thought experiment to see what could be the potential effect if it was implemented.
Yeah, it seemed to be somewhere between disbelief and absolute terror. But seriously, it's a good thing that even unpleasant ideas are talked about.

Hmm, inflationary base layer rewards are mainly keeping the witnesses and whales around. You can turn them off, if you have community tokens for curation and the witnesses are willing to try that.
