I am looking at it from the eyes of a woman who commutes singapore-malaysia and has seen how the foreign immigrants come in their post 40/50 age life to settle here in asia.. I have never seen 20 year old coming to asia, africa for settling in life...which would be bad decision too.

typical brainy nerd intelligent kids going to USA, EU won't be stopped from any part of the world even with AI taking over. we are discussing the middle and below level jobs where brain is less required but other tasks which AI can do or automation may replace.. which means those jobs gone, people who immigrate for those jobs would have to stay back

There are many people from America living in Mexico and commute across the border like you do. Also what are English teachers in Asia? We are blue collars who look like white collars. Originally it was rich kids just looking for an experience but more and more of them just don’t have opportunities at home. I am one of the few who grew to like it and was confident enough to go independent instead of getting paid minimum wage.

You are probably right about a certain kinds of jobs, yeah. But I think you are imaging Asia to be much worse than US or EU when it’s really not unless you are rich there. Much of my generation is going into ridiculous debt that they will never be able to pay off, and that debt is getting harder and harder to acquire anyway. It’s a similar rat race everywhere although some apartments in some places are way worse than others.
