This is why I Visit your Blog...

in LeoFinance3 years ago (edited)
A couple of days ago, I was scrolling through the 'Latest' section of Leofinance looking for some new content to read, when a realization hit me. Much like the 'Top Sites' of a browser listing the places you visit the most, I discovered I was going back to many of the same content creators again and again.

Not knowingly of course, but I was drawn to bloggers that either taught me something, or have a unique manner of expressing themselves that kept me coming back for more. So I wanted to share in this blog post the types of content creators that earn my click every single day.

It's gotten to the point with some of them that they've become an automatic read, whenever they publish something new. These bloggers over time, have built up a reputation for producing high-quality work, so that I can click on the title with confidence. Like me, you'll find a core group of creators that you like, and if you ask yourself "why?" the amswer may make you a better blogger.

The CryptoManiacs Podcast is one where I always learn something new from Task and Jong. Along with JRE and KONCRETE, it's one of the few long-form video podcasts I view on a regular basis. So, if your blog is one that specializes in sharing information, it may just become a destination for true infomaniacs like me.

Another type of blog which catches my attention is one with what I call "a speaking voice." This is where the writer "talks" as if he's speaking directly to you. tarazkp is a good example of a blogger who writes with a speakers voice. with These types of writers create very personable content, and even long-form posts can breeze by before you know it.

There's also the important issue of engagement, where we can interact with the blogger, and expand on the information they share. If you regularly respond in the comments section, your readers are much more likely to make return visits.

Other posts come from what I call "the storytellers." These individuals have the ability to weave vivid imagery into everything they write. Travel bloggers tend to be great at this, where you can almost feel the sand beneath your feet as they tell us about their wonderful trip to a tropical isle.

They have a real knack for describing the atmosphere felt in a particular place in such a way, that it makes it feel as if we're right there with them. It's a treasured skill that really helps bring their blogs to life.

The last are what I call "inspirational bloggers." These are people who write to uplift and motivate everyone that visits their pages. Some may have dealt with adversity, and want to share tips about how they got through a bad situation.

Others are great at boosting us on a daily basis, while keeping their positive attitude front and center. Back when he was active, humanearl was so good at this. The constant encouragement and positivity helped many people "going through it" come out stronger on the other side. We're blessed to have people like him on Hive.

So there you have it. Just a little slice of the many content creators that we can follow and support with confidence. These are some great examples of the kind of writing which will help us build and keep an audience. So if you're new to Hive, and want to become a better blogger, you can't go wrong with subjects like these. Inform, entertain, and inspire. With these as your North Star, you'll have a bright future here on Hive.

Nice write-up. I agree that we tend to follow, upvote and read the same writers, most of the time. For me, it's convenience to find the same bloggers that I like. I like to go to recent articles page and randomly select articles to read.

It really does help with discovery of amazing new writers. This post was inspired when looking at my 'top sites' page in my browser, and noticing that I had a core set of pages I visited daily.

Yes, I do that (go to the recent page) partly because I want others to do the same. Others won't be able to find my articles unless I am a well-known and well-followed blogger.

I do like listening to JonG and Task too
Information and entertainment
It's a good one to listen to while I do my house chores :D

I love the in-depth discussions they have where we get a deep take on a subject. This allows for a fuller understanding and makes for a power-packed podcast! :)

I watch the cryptomanaic whenever a new show comes out even if I can't make the live show. In a way, every week comes with an AMA section where we get our own questions answered. So we definitely learn a lot.

You bet! I'm still pumped from the recent bulldog1205 appearance, and hope they have him back again! :)

We all have our niches and there are things that interest each of us. Thanks for the support on CryptoManiacs. We try to uncover what is taking place and educate.

It's done very well and is a helpful resource for 3Speak and Hive. It'd be nice to see an episode of the origin of the show and how you two decided to co-host the show. We'll continue watching! :)

The ability of a writer to put you in the exact perspective and emotional spot as they where, while penning down or hitting those keyboard buttons, is a rare gift that can't be appropriated enough!!

It also inspires people like me to improve as a writer as well. Making that connection with the reader can really help with retention when learning something new.

Reading your post makes me realize that I should make an effort and search for other content sometimes because I too are stuck in patterns :)

And that's fine because I want to support those that I know share good content, but to build new connections I should have a different look at the posts that are published every day.

I love how your described your favorite content creators, thanks for sharing!

Exactly. We can both support the bloggers we like to read while seeking out new ones in the deep bench of talent we have here on Hive. :)

An experienced blogger always use words and video people understand as title, so that once you click on it, they have their cash.

I tend to go through many titles before settling on the final one. Same with images. I likely selected 5 of each to choose from, then winnowed it down at the end to the ones that popped.

If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking.

It's always refreshing to read content from a wide range of people and It's healthy to have our favourites.

Great quote, and true indeed. We can all help each other grow as a person, and become better because of it. I love watching the new crop of Hivers sprout like little seedlings in the garden of Hive. :)

I've learned about so many upcoming projects from the CryptoManiacs podcast, that it's become required viewing to stay updated on everything happening in the world of crypto on Hive.

We have so many gifted bloggers here, which is one of the many reasons I'm bullish on Hive in 2022!

I also feel as you do, I also have favorite writers that I never stop reading because like you I learn every day.

I'm so busy as a (sometimes) working student, that I don't always have time to do deep dives on everything that interests me on the blockchain. This is why I'm so grateful for those that do and are willing to share what they know. I plan to never stop learning and growing each and every day.
