So Simple Harmonic Motion is a type where an object suspended from a fixed pivot makes a periodic movement along a straight or circular part. The number of revolution it makes could be recorded.

The motion is usually periodic. That means the object moves through and fro along a path. A force that originates from the equilibrium keeps on making the object return from its starting point and back.
