#gmfrens 💚😵
For the first time in a long time, I'm genuinely nervous about the future of $HIVE as a blockchain.
I think the opposite to everyone in the top 20 witnesses.
I think the opposite to everyone with meaningful stake.

Same, but I felt that way on Steemit and then again 3 months after Hive was born, when I quit blogging and curating for the Natural Medicine Community.
Oh you were involved in that community?
$LOTUS should have been a $LEO clone.
What's the saying, HEALTH, wealth and relationships are the big 3 niches?
Still can't believe they killed it :(
Yes, the whales got jealous and attacked both NM and the AbundanceTribe Communities and the results was at least a 1000 users leaving. I was part of both Communities. That was long after I left though
It's still on the tribe owners for not monetising.
Everyone still in the thought bubble that blockchain rewards are revenue.
As you can see by 3 whales taking them all away at the click of a button, they are not.
Everyone knew that, they just felt they were doing well and got shit on. It's less about earnings and all about getting attacked around every corner no matter what you did once they had you in their sights.
If layer-2 dApps built on Hive properly monetise their content & use that revenue to buy their token, they will be worth MUCH more than HIVE itself.
Then HIVE blockchain rewards will become insignificant.
Then those who are here for money can stop worrying about what those with HIVE stake think.
They will be completely irrelevant in terms of people's earnings.
All that HIVE needs to be is decentralised enough that the chain stays censorship-resistant.
That is the whole job of HIVE.
Not to promote good content.
Not to promote anything.
Just to be decentralised;
Well, when it's all stake weighted it becomes an Oligarchy, which Hive is, so not truly decentralized. All the 2nd layers in the world won't change that. They may help, but Hive is the big guy for now.
BUT....This is the beautiful thing about Hive....Layer 2, fixes a lot of those issues. But on the base layer side of things...Urgh it's frustrating.
The relationship is completely symbiotic.
I just don't understand why this is even a discussion by the Hive elite.
I've really been thinking about this a lot lately. I think things like $LEO are so important because it represents a changing of the guard. Hive would benefit, everyone would win. No idea why they fight it so much.
2/2: Do you think if LEO repriced 20x, we'd see money flow into HIVE?
Stake large enough to genuinely influence governance?
Or if it didn't happen for Splinterlands, its not going to happen here?
Yeah people kept the money in Splinterlands, in Splinterlands. I have not seen a big swing over to Hive from their model. Other than getting an account etc.
I think you said it, we need thriving layer 2's
1/2: It's interesting to look back at this post I wrote last year:
https://leofinance.io/@forexbrokr/the-evolution-of-whale-accounts-on-hive
(lol at the Terra stuff)
Anyone want to have a go at talking me down today?
Anybody...?
If you are referring to what I think you may be..It's very concerning.
I think the old guard will make sure fresh faces never get a chance to have a say. They like the status quo, and don't need Hive to grow to continue to make a killing.
