Remember that MetaMask is a centralised front-end used to access decentralised networks.
They can and as it seems, probably do, whatever they want with the data you give them by installing their software.

Doesn't this make DeBank or Rabby centralized front-ends to access decentralized networks also?
And if MetaMask is a centralized front-end used to access a decentralized network, how does that make it better than being at a CEX?
Think about it the same way as using LeoFinance or PeakD to access your Hive account.
Front-ends can do a lot of dodgy shit, but if you don't trust them, you can choose to use others to access your wallet & interact with the blockchain.
When in CEX, I hold only login id and password. (Pure shit). Not #privatekeys anymore. When using #Metamask, my #privatekey can still be with me. In #hardware #wallet
That's the bottom line, isn't it? Control of the private keys (or seed phrase).
