That's so strange. I've tested on several different devices, no issues like this.
I'm currently in the process of major code cleanup and restructuring. Hopefully the issue will resolve itself with the next version. If not I'll investigate further.
PS I assume you tried clicking one anywhere within the game window to make sure it's active in the window. This shouldn't be necessary, but worth a try if you haven't
Thank you for testing. I just pushed another update to the game, adding keyboard control with the arrow keys + Respawn can now be triggered with the Enter key. You may need to hard refresh the site for it to update (Ctrl + F5)
Before you give it another go though, here are some follow-up questions for you:
Which OS are you running? Win, Mac or Linux?
Are you using any browser extensions at all? Particularly ad-blockers or other extensions that modify code could be problematic.
Is it a company computer? In that case there could be company security policies in place the mess with stuff.
does the original game slither.io work as intended?
That's really odd..
So the game loads, right? But the snake doesn't respond to your mouse cursor? It says v0.2.1 in the upper left corner right?
And yes, all other features of the game itself appear to work as I visually follow the poor little snake to its inevitable demise 😂

Oh sorry, I've only tried this on desktop. I don't even open Hive on mobile (it's work only until next June!).
However, for desktop... on Brave browser, there's no response to the cursor at all. At the end, the Respawn button appears but isn't clickable.
On Firefox browser, there's no response to the cursor at all and the Respawn button doesn't appear either.
