Another week another “Share Your Battle” Competition. This time around I added something extra in order to highlight the different situations in which the star of this article can be used, so it is worth it to read trough and give me some feedback! This time around we are talking about the Death Card “Life Sapper”. We will discuss the pros and cons of this card, talk about the complementary cards that I like to use in a battle and last but not least take a look at some actual battles that we were able to win. With this being said, I am hoping for some feedback to improve on my writing and also on my tactical abilities in the game! 😊
Life Sapper
First things first, let’s talk about the Life Sapper. A Rare card that costs us 3 mana to play. Not bad for a Magic attacking card in my opinion. The problems comes very shortly when we start looking towards the other stats. With only two speed and two health this card is an easy target to eliminate. But this is the reason why this card has its cool ability: Life Leech. With every successful hit, this card is able to improve its own health which comes with a bunch of benefits!
For starters, this card is very nicely used in the Equalizer ruleset! Why? Because this card has itself a lot more life than it usually would have which guarantees that it will improve its health. On the other hand it also gives us the opportunity to steal more health from the opponents as they obviously start with the same amount of health. Another very cool use-case is the explosive ruleset. Because the Explosion damage counts as well, this card is able to generate more health for itself. In terms of positioning it is benefiting from its magic attacking style that allows it to attack from the backline as well.
With some preferred rulesets, there will be also some rulesets that I would avoid using this card. One of them is certainly earthquake and Poison. Why? Because this card does not start with a whole lot of health and of it is getting reduced by an external force, this card will most likely not live long enough to gain its full potential. Another ruleset where I would avoid using this monster is the Divine Shield Ruleset. Because only damage counts to the Life Leech ability, the hits against a divine shield do not benefit us which is basically a wasted hit.
Tank Options
With the star out of the way, let’s talk about our tank options in the Death Splinter. Currently I have two cards in my deck that I really like to use when I have the possibility. On the one hand we have the prototype of a tank: Harklaw. With its Shield Ability it is able to withhold a lot od damage and will therefore ensure a smooth transition so that the life sapper has enough health points at the important part of the battle. On the other side we have the Cursed Windeku with its Thorns Ability. With this card we can make sure that our opponent suffers some extra damage each turn.
It is important that we are able to protect our main cards with cards like these. Unfortunately, as you will see later on in the battles: I was not able to use either of these cards. The main reason is that the mana restrictions did not allow me to play such high mana cards. I still think that these cards are very valuable options in order to protect our strategy.
Complementary Cards
Why having one Life Leech card if you could have two of them? This is my thought process behind the Venari Bonesmith. I think this can be titled as double trouble for the opponent. Especially in rulesets such as equalizer of Explosion. This card is basically the exact copy of the Life Sapper, with the only difference that it has one life point more and is costing us one mana more.
Another very cool complementary card is Magi Necrosi. I truly love to play with this card! Why? Well, it has 4 speed and 2 mana attack, which is already pretty cool. But then it also comes with the Snipe and Camouflage ability. This means that we can put it in last place and it will not be able to be attacked and additionally will target some backline monsters of our opponent. This card is just truely worth having!
Last but not least I want to mention the Revealer. This card is something like the tiebreaker for this team. Because it has the Stun Ability it is bringing some element of chance into the battle and allows us to skip some of our opponent’s attacks because this card was able to stun the other cards. This is especially cool, because this card is once again a magic attacker that can attack from any position we want it to!
Example Battles
But now, enough talking about strategies and positionings, let’s take a look at the actual battles! This time around I brought you exactly the two use cases where I think that the Life Leech card will shine the best. It is in the first battle the Explosive Ruleset and in the second battle the Equalizer ruleset.
While in the first battle we were able to benefit from the explosive ability and actually destroy his cards fairly quickly. The second battle took for ages. Because of his Healing Abilities and mine Life Leech abilities, we were able to create a monster health Life Sapper, but you definitely need to watch it for yourself! In both battles we were able to come out victorious due to our clever positioning and usage of the Life Leech Ability. This is why I would encourage you to try this out as well for yourself!

Good description of the challenge card, and some good battle examples. You just need to improve a bit more on the formatting, centering the images and that sort of thing.
Thank you very much for the feedback! I will try to improve in my next one :)
