Mark the date, as yesterday was the launch of PolyCub, two days ahead of CubFinance's first anniversary.
But, a routine is a routine, and Sunday is the day when I publish the weekly progress report for my Hive goals.
My main focus this week was split between Splinterlands with the end of season at the beginning of the week and then slowly slid into anything regarding PolyCub.
I still question myself. Should I have added more funds? Is it too late now?
To some degree I am ok with my decision to only use the airdrop, the liquid LEO I had been piling up for some time and the funds I already had on Polygon, which weren't much.
At most, I'm still pondering if I should move a little CAKE I have in the CubFinance kingdom to PolyCub. It wouldn't make much of a difference, that's why I didn't think this is a priority. Maybe it would have been a good idea while xPolyCub was still close in value to PolyCub, before early harvesting fees started to pile up.
But I'm seriously getting sucked into the PolyCub topic, and I need to move on to my progress report.
My main Hive goals in 2022 are:
- 25000 HIVE (Power)
- 5000 HBD
This week I have a surprise for you.
I'll add two new goals to the ones already stated since the beginning of the year.
The additional goals are:
- reach the 10000 comments milestone on HiveBuzz
- reach the 10000 replies milestone
I've been convinced to set these goals after the discussions I had on my post from yesterday, particularly with @thisismylife and @jfang003.
As we can see from the screenshots on HiveBuzz, I am currently at 6559 comments
and 6762 replies. Initially I thought by replies are measured my own replies to comments I receive. That would have been controllable.
A "replies received" metric is not something I can directly influence. But I'll keep the target, to see how this goes.
There are 300 days left in 2022, which means that to reach those targets I need an average of (10000 - 6559) / 300 = 11.48 comments per day. Since this is an average there will be days with higher number of comments and days with lower or no comments.
For replies received, (10000 - 6762) / 300 = 10.80 replies per day. By using Listnerds, and if the engagement it produces remains at high levels or increases, this shouldn't be such an issue.
Per week, that means 81 comments made and 76 replies received.
Per month (considering a 30-day month), those milestones turn into 345 comments and 324 replies.
I'll have to think if I'll add them to the weekly spreadsheet (more work), or keep an eye on them for a while to see how things evolve. Who knows, maybe I'm doing better than those limits? I haven't really been interested in tracking these metrics so far.
Regarding the main goals, HIVE Power and HBD, this was a slow week and below the guidelines. I didn't push except on Monday to achieve the HIVE goal for February, which I did. Afterwards, it's mainly author and curation rewards.
Here's the spreadsheet:

You do have some lofty goals. 5000 hbd and 10000 hive are very worthwhile goals and I have no doubt you will succeed but probably beat them.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Yes, both 5000 hbd and 25000 hive will be quite difficult to achieve. We will see how things progress. I'm glad I added the other 2 goals, especially since they are not of a monetary nature, and won't divert any resources from my main goals, except my time, but engagement and networking have awesome benefits to consider on the long run.
Bro, it's sooooooo tempting.
I'm not sure what my approach should be. Right now, I'm thinking of taking some LEO from my daily earnings, and putting it into CUB.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Daily? Maybe that'll be too many fees to do that.
It's either that or adding more into pLeo-MATIC while the APR is so high. I'm not sure what's better atm.
I'm so used to Hive, with no fees...It's almost criminal to me that other blockchains charge you just to stake lolol
There's also the 1 LEO fee to wrap LEO. If you do it daily, they add up.
True true
Good luck with the goals! And I would personally only add the comments as that's something you can influence and the replies not so much. But that's just my opinion :)
It's nice that both the goals seemed to be at the same level, which means usually someone replies when you comment and vice versa. But as it's not something you can control, I'd leave out that extra administration :)
Nice hive goal, I'm barely at 2k lol .. that's still very far away for me.
I ditched my spreadsheet after 6 weeks, it was too much headache to fill it in and then also fill in the table in my post, too much work so I now only fill in the table for my weekly post instead.
and a !1UP for you :)
Yes, I remarked replies is something I cannot control. Initially I thought they measured my replies to comments people made on my post, but it makes sense that it measure other people's replies to me. I left it as a goal, even though it's more to see how the two evolve going forward since they are close now.
I find it easier to fill in a spreadsheet than to fill in a table in markdown. But maybe I'm wrong. Plus, I keep the historical data on the spreadsheet.
If you have a great spreadsheet that's a great approach, I actually use them for many things that are work-related as well as private stuff. But my goals sheet sucked, I tried to adjust it a few times and now I was so fed up with the extra work that I simplified it. BUT I will start taking notes about the monthly progress for later purposes in case I want to find that back. Just not the weekly ones.
I started using the table in Leofinance as it looks clean IMO, I would not really use it for a lot of other things though, as it's a bit daunting indeed.
I actually seem to use a spreadsheet a little more complicated than many who do these weekly posts use, but it takes more work to keep it up to date every week.
At least it's all clear with a sheet :) Great insights on where you're at!
Great job on the goals my friend
Have a wonderfull weekend

Nice goals to shoot for. Since you show up every day, I believe you will do it. You really are a math geek, aren't you Adrian? LOL
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Yes I am. Guilty as charged. :) Although I used to be even geekier than these days, lol.
That's an interesting idea to add a number of comments and replies to your Hive goals... Good luck!
And about the Polycub... Don't even mention it... I spent almost the same time as Khal on it in the last 48 hours... lol...
I have picked this post on behalf of the @OurPick project and it will be highlighted in the next post!
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
That's good for networking while not being a distraction from the main goals regarding HIVE and HBD. I think so too.
Are you a Polycub whale already, lol?
I don't know what do you count to be a whale, but I have doubled my CUB position in Polycub... lol...
Time will tell if that was a wise decision... 😅
Good luck with the goals. I agree that replies can't be controlled but I think posts do better in that regard. So long as you stay consistent, I don't think you should have any issues.
I just decided to sit and wait in regards to PolyCUB. Besides my airdrop, I don't really plan on touching anything and I am waiting for those posts with a bunch of analysis before deciding further.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Yeah, the problem with waiting is that you miss out on incredible yields and fees collected in the meantime. But on the long term, having a goal passed the immediate gains make the difference.
Interesting new goals. I've never thought about setting those kind of engagement goals. Nice idea.

They have the quality of not taking other resources except time, so I can focus rewards and profits from other projects to my HIVE and HBD goals.
Best of luck on you Hive goals. It seems the launch of PolyCUB is a major landmark, I need to get all knowledge I can about it, and key into it, thanks.

Yes, it's a major launch and the sooner you join the more rewarding it is. But I tend to believe this is going to be very rewarding on the long run as well.
Thanks, I appreciate the support.
Good luck. Hope that you can reach your target as expected.

Thank you! I appreciate it.
I like your goal spreadsheet, I like to work with google sheets while getting my taxes ready to go. Haven't thought to much on using them for goals. Will give it a try.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
It's first time I use spreadsheets this way too. If it's a good spreadsheet, it can be powerful and gives you enough information regarding where you are and what you have to do or change to achieve your goals.
You are right Thank you.
