I imagine a bit of both. Plenty of research and experience required but sometimes a little luck helps too!

Yeah, in the early adopters' territory, it doesn't hurt to have some luck!

Both. If you can't have both, then planning is better than luck. However, you can only plan so much; after that, it's up to luck.

I dare say that everything starts with good planning and that we can have good results. Luck is tied to the opportunities that appear in the middle of the way in which we have to have the expertise to know how to take advantage of them.
