In the Spotlight
New Listings, New Game
Oh boy... what a week! And what attention HIVE is getting lately which is the opposite of the treatment we've been shown for a long time. It was about time...
It even shows in the number of Hive-related news I've been tracking for the past 7 days, which doubled compared to the previous 7 days. Might even be a record since I write this roundup from the beginning of 2023, if not, it's there, right at the top. I skipped quite a few (some interesting) news in this report, on topics I repeated maybe too much lately. That doesn't make them less important for the communities where they happen.
Thanks to @steevc, I also became aware of this article that analyzes the staggering price gains that HIVE has had. Since we are at the chapter about articles, @blackheart1 and @guiltyparties published this article in the Outlook Magazine, with over 1 million readers in India. 5 more articles about Hive will follow in the same publication, and they ask anyone who can help write next articles to step forward.
New HIVE Listings
First of all... we now have a trend. Maybe we should call it a race, even. And the race is: who lists HIVE sooner and who attracts more liquidity and volume, and the competitors seem to be the CEXes, for the time being.
We had two more spot listings this week. First, a BIG one in Europe, BitPanda. @hatoto may have had a big contribution to this listing.
Then, we learn that Bitget Exchange also listed HIVE and we have a HIVE/USDT pair there.
That comes after 2 or 3 more spot listings at the end of the year and a couple of futures listings (the most important one on Binance). All of them I covered in previous reports.
New Hive Game!
Crownrend has launched 2 days ago. It is a game similar to TerraCore and Golem Overlord games which I believe to be successful on Hive for their genre. Developed by @deathwing and @mrstats, it is easy to play, doesn't take up much of your time, and for players who are familiar to the genre, can be fun, and even profitable. I certainly love this type of games.
The introduction post is here and there is a basic guide written by the other co-founder. If you are interested, I suggest to join the discord, it's a better way to stay up to date with the rapid changes. Luckily, breaking changes are announced in-game too, or some people would miss the news and follow a strategy that worked in the past but won't for the future. It costs 10$ worth of HIVE to start. If you haven't joined, consider using my referral link. I'm in the habit of sharing cashback 50/50% with my referrals on all games where there is such a reward and a referral program.

INLEO Marketing Achievements and New DHF Proposal
As we turned the page into a new year, we've seen a couple of posts from Inleo describing their accomplishments of 2024 and plans for 2025.
When I look over the list of their achievements, I realize how much there is, and maybe how much I already forgot about or take for granted already.
And then... they talk about achieving their most important KPI of the DHF proposal from 2023, and that is to grow the monthly active users on the platform to at least 10k by the end of 2024, which they did, thanks mostly to the integration with Dash and adding the Keystore wallet support. About that and all the other accomplishments that led to it, in the final report for that DHF proposal.
Inleo then published the DHF proposal for 2025. Among their targets for 2025, I want to highlight:
- aiming to reach 50k+ monthly active users at the end of the year, and Khal said in an AMA or somewhere, that that might be a conservative target
- aiming to partner to many communities and ecosystems, using the Dash model (there is a list and schedule for the first ones)
- LeoMerchants for payments, in various forms: API for HIVE Apps, API for brick-and-mortar businesses, LeoMerchants PoS system (currently, I think only LeoMerchants for paying for Premium is live) - if they keep slippage and fees under control, this could be a huge development!
- Livestreams on Inleo
- LEO listings on CEXes and DEXes
There are many more in their list. I'd suggest a read.
From my understanding, the DHF proposal is meant only for co-marketing efforts alongside partners. And yep, that costs a lot for what we are used to on Hive, but we've seen it is effective! Development and infrastructure side costs are paid by Inleo. Like before, they have a payback clause at the end, if they don't deliver 50k MAUs by the end of 2025.
An interesting note from the last AMA. They created around 25-30k accounts on Hive in 2024, but only 13k+ of them are monthly active users. Half is a very high retention rate, if it remains that high over time, and even has room to go down a bit. But the moment of truth will come in the bear market on this point.
Short "Earn Dash with INLEO" Clip Made by Dash
Since we are at this point where the INLEO collaboration with Dash played a huge role, check out this short video covering the essentials for a potential newcomer, without stumbling into details.

Blocktrades: API Node Software This Week
API node software, initially slated to be released in December, is scheduled to be released this week. There was an issue with the HAF upgrade process, which allows it to be upgraded in minutes instead of being necessary a replay. Now it is fixed.
How to Run a HiveD / Seed / Witness Node Using Docker Compose?
@mahdiyari created this guide for the new or aspiring operators of nodes of various types on Hive.
Hive Posting from Telegram? It Appears So!
Looks like @cur8 created a Telegram mini-app that allows posting from there on Hive. Logging in is via Hivesigner, though, which isn't the easiest to use, especially by new people. But hey, we're exposing Hive to a huge potential userbase! So... great idea! They also created a guide.
PWR "Single Staking"
PWR introduced staking for the token, with a 1-day withdrawal period. Stakeholders are paid based on the new tokens minted via mining, and distributed according to stake.
Looks like the new staking option became a favorite of a few high stakeholders, and dropped the APR even below the one for the diesel pool. Here are the details.
GIFU Looking Good
I am not a GIFU holder (unless I received some for free, you'll see below what I mean), but this gif-themed meme coin created and managed by people in our community seem to be doing quite well. Last week they announced another ATH on BSC.
With that in mind, there is a very easy way to get some GIFU for practically free (it costs a follow on X and turning on notifications for them). Here are the details.
Some Updates from HSBI...
It's been a while since I heard about HSBI. Not because it doesn't work, because we see upvotes being dispatch to share holders, but because they haven't posted in a while. Looks like they wanted to clarify that the price of the HSBI subscriptions will never change and how they see the possibility of Hive SBI for Threads.

Talking About Arcade Colony... Pays Off
If you talk about Arcade Colony or other topics related to Invennium and its products, and use the tag #arcadecolony, you might get a huge upvote. No guarantees...
Here's an example: a good Moonkarts guide.
Splinterlands Active Youtubers
@constanza compiled a list of the of the active and inactive Youtubers who produce(d) content about Splinterlands regularly. It's interesting there is table with the evolution of their audiences in time.
Week in the Crypto World
Web 2 Learning from Web 3?
They surely do! They are not stupid. They just want more money, to stay in control, and relevant in the present and future, so, as long as a change doesn't jeopardize that, and seems to be what will give them an edge against competition, they will do it. Meta has tried many things at the border of innovation or even before its time (metaverse), and some of them have been strongly inspired by what is happening in Web 3.
I admit I didn't expect Meta to come out with an open source code for LLaMa. But that's a trick, because what is important for an LLM are the weights, not the code, and those are not public. But for publicity, open source sounds good. And may bring Meta more data for its models to train on, I'm not sure.
But recently, they also announced they give up on 3rd party fact-checkers, and go into a Community Notes style of moderation, which X introduced first, but maybe both may have drawn some inspiration from Web 3. I say "may have" because I don't really use Web 2 and I don't know exactly how that works in either case.
SUI Targeting Web3 Gaming Space
SEED, which has a Telegram app with 60m users, secured a funding from SUI Foundation to grow a 100m players Web3 gaming ecosystem on SUI. That sounds like fun times for SUI!

I can rely on you for lots of news. I meant to mention the new game in my post, but forgot. I really hope all the attention Hive is getting brings in new people who will be active. I know many are fed up with other platforms. Hive is my main social platform, but I am pragmatic about using others where they are useful.
!BEER
Thanks! It means a lot, especially since you also track the news throughout the week.
I sometimes forget to include some things too and realize afterwards. But mostly I need to condense it, or it would be much longer than anyone would want to read.
It is a great moment for us to be (re)discovered. What I worry though is that many are only interested in the price action and on CEXes, so they won't even get to Hive at all. That would be a shame.
I'm not as organised on preparing my posts as I should be, so it's sort of a mind dump. I enjoy the process anyway.
Absolutely! Different styles, and some different things we follow, since we can't be everywhere. You certainly know much more than I do about what happens in the artistic world on Hive, since that interests you personally.
Unless I'm wrong, the article was just a regular price action article or is there something about the website, perhaps who wrote it?
Just a price action article. The one in Outlook Magazine, on the other hand, is written by people from our ecosystem and captures the substance of Hive more than the article we are referring to.
